| The infinite Creative Will of the Absolute, emanating
from the omnipresent substance of the One and imbued with the omnipotent
power of the Absolute, acting in accordance to the natural laws established
by the omniscience of the Absolute, performs the work of creation in the
physical world. This process is a manifestation of the Cosmic Intelligence
of the One, a realization of its will in action. It is not a blind, mechanical
force that operates by the chance or coincidence, as many scientists would
have us believe.
To understand the will of the Absolute better, observe the microcosmic reflection of this macrocosmic force as it manifests in yourself. You wish to move your hand, and it moves. The action may seem, from outward appearances alone, to be animated by a purely mechanical force. But, what is the source of its energy and direction? Your own thoughts and will, of course. All manifestations of energy, all causes of motion and change, therefore, are the actions of the Creative Will of the Absolute. Do not assume that the Creative Will is only manifested in mechanical forces, chemical attractions, cohesions, gravitation, etc. It is much more than just these natural reactive movements. It is a striving, unfolding, forward pressure and an upward, progressive, creative, evolutionary effort that seeks to express the highest possible manifestation of the Life Principle. It expresses itself through its creations, and gives birth to infinite forms of activity. It is what causes the lower life forms to be succeeded by the higher ones. It is the evolutionary urge that cries out in the heart of every creature, "Move onward. Move upward!" Evolution, however, is far more than just natural selection and survival of the fittest. Although survival uses these basic impulses to accomplish its objective, the force behind it all is the Creative Will of the Absolute. The Creative Will of the Absolute is not mere logic, reasoning or intellectual activity, although it lies behind the manifestation of such principles. It does not depend upon an organic brain for expression. Microscopic molecular life and atomic particles do not possess brains, yet they manifest Life and intelligent direction. These lower life forms carry on the same functions that are generally associated with more complex and organized structures; such as obtaining nutrition, reproduction, reacting to sensation, and purposeful movement. These little creatures are not capable of conscious thought, but the phenomenon of their instinctive impulses to action and creation is still present everywhere. It is a manifestation of the Great Life Principle, the Creative Will of the Absolute, as it appears in all living things. Like Spirit, the Creative Will can not be seen, directly. But, we can observe it in action through its manifestations of Life. It is like the wind, invisible, yet it may be witnessed to rustle the leaves of the trees on a spring afternoon. Many writers and teachers have spoken of the Universal Life, the Creative Will of the Absolute, and the One itself as being synonymous. But, this is a grievous error. They are not the same and identical. It is true that all Life is one, emanating from the Universal Source of All and urged into action by the force of the Creative Will of the Absolute. These are not the same as the Absolute, however. They are merely manifestations of the One God of All Creation. They are not God, Itself. The One Absolute is far more than a material manifestation, a chemical reaction, or even a nebulous force. Yet, the creation of the Universe of Universes and its Creator are inseparable from one another. I know much of this sounds a bit contradictory, and
a little confusing, but bear with me for a while longer and I think it
will become clearer. Therefore, let us move on to a consideration of the
process of creation and where we fit into the scheme of things.
