| Our galaxy is a hundred-thousand light years across,
and it is just one of over a hundred-billion galaxies in this little corner
of the space-time continuum which we call our Universe. Now, as if that
were not mind boggling enough, try to imagine the nuclear energy output
of a billion-trillion exploding suns. This represents only a minute fraction
of the total energy released into space each and every nanosecond. Yet,
even such unimaginable distances and power are as nothing when compared
to the dynamic potential of a single human consciousness. Just one conscious
mind can surpass the combined forces of all else in existence.
Human consciousness is the only force in the limitless Universe of Universes that can alter the course of Nature itself. Without the influence of consciousness, the laws of physics are immutable. Every action and reaction, everywhere, would be mechanically predestined. But, through the manipulations of human consciousness, the seemingly automatic course of destiny can be altered and controlled with impunity. The Universe cannot command, control or contain the expanding human consciousness. But, the conscious human mind can (and will) take command of the Universe itself. Indeed, human consciousness has all of Infinity, and beyond, to grow into and control for its own benefit and welfare. Before conquering the secrets of the outer universe, however, one should master the universe within. For, when this is done, he or she may travel forth and demand knowledge as a master, rather than begging crumbs from the table of wisdom. No demonstration of techniques, words of explanation, or printed text will ever impart to you the wisdom and skill of the ancient "masters." The assimilation of such profound knowledge and awareness cannot be accomplished through osmosis. There simply are no such magical shortcuts to enlightenment. Even the words of this book are merely signposts, pointing the way. You alone must walk the path. In the end, the Cosmos does not own the conscious
human mind. It is the awakened human consciousness that owns the Cosmos.
