1815-1818
Parts of Fallsbury Township are still as remote and rugged as they were in the late 1790’s
and early 1800’s when settlers started arriving in the surrounding areas. Fallsbury did not
see any permanent settlers until around 1815. Most of the settlers from this time were
from the Muskingum County area and migrated up the Wakatomika Creek to Fallsbury
Township. William Wilson was the first land owner, purchasing a parcel in the northeast
quarter of Section 9. in March of 1815. David Bright was the first settler, building his
cabin in 1818.
