Descendants of George L. Kaufenbaerger
Both George Kaufenbaerger and his wife Katrina Kimmel were born in Germany and they were married there, then came to the Colonies by the time their first child was born perhaps by 1750. They probably came into the port of Philadelphia, as they settled at Martinsburg in Berkeley County, West Virginia, which is a branch of the usual route of settlement from Pennsylvania to Virginia, by the "Old Wagon Road".
If there are any cousins out there who have knowledge of what George did for a living, I would be very interested. George is Bernie's ancestor, but I also have ancestors in Berkeley County, the Lights; does anyone know of any marriages between the Lights and the Kaufenbaerger/Coffinberrys? Of course, I am always interested in collecting descendant information.
