WKRP In Cincinnati ran on CBS-TV from September 18, 1978 to September 20, 1982. In the course of its network run, CBS changed the sitcom's time slot seven times. The show returned in syndication in 1991, with old & new faces.

The opening theme by Tom Wells was sung by Steve Carlisle. The update of the theme in the second series was done by overdubbing and remixing the original tracks. The closing theme did not really have lyrics -- the vocal was just jibberish.
