Older Artwork

The spirit of Autumn. This was done in Photoshop.
This was a Xerox transfer with oil. The butterfly background is by M.C.Escher. The dried roses were given to me on my birthday the year before this was painted. Thanks to Rob for those. This was done with acrylic paint on a black Strathmore sketchbook. The concept was more or less an accident. This is what happens when hands are idle near paint. I liked it though and it's become one of my favorite designs. Now I think I could have done without the flames
. This was done with pastels on Bristol board. The project was to describe Heaven and Hell. Well, I decided that if Hell was high heels, then bare feet were heaven. I prefer not to wear shoes unless absolutely necessary and so I got a kick out of this project. ” The Winged SwordThis was another of my stainglass paintings, again with acrylic on a black sketchbook cover.
I've had lots of people read religious symbolism into it, but I hadn’t intended it to be when I painted it. The Odd Couple. For this project,
we were only given the title to work with. The oddest couple I could think of was the Owl
and the Pussycat from the nursery rhyme of the same name. The funny thing was, I was the
only one in the area who'd ever heard of such a thing. I had to find an old Mother Goose
storybook to prove I wasn't making it up. This is water color on illustration board.
”
The Green Fish. This was done with acrylic paint on acetate. I was given a brief lesson on cell painting at an
anime convention once, and thought it so much fun, I still paint on
transparencies when I can. This was originally supposed to be half of a Pisces
piece, but then I liked them just as well separately.
”
This is the greenfish painting turned into the Pisces design it was intended for, only without the blue half. The Pisces Calendar. More Pisces stuff. This was acrylic
paint on acetate. I went by the book for symbols. The white lotus, eyes and hair are all
supposed to be meaningful to the Piscean person.

Storm Eyes. I've always been fascinated by lightning. I love storm-watching. I can get lost in it,
and this is a piece about a storm lost in me. It was done in colored inks on acetate. It took forever to
dry in between layers, so the whole thing took me over a week to finish.
My Luna Moth painting, Simplified a bit.
This is an illustration for the Vachel Lindsey poem “What the Gray-Winged Fairy Said” It was done in photoshop.
