Rach woke up at 5am that morning and went outside for a walk, she sat down near where the water hit the shore and watched the sun rise. She admired the colors that filled the sky as the sun rose. She still couldn't believe all that had happened, first her and Tia are working out, then she's in love, kicking Katelin out of the house, and hurting. She never knew how much love could hurt, or how much happiness it could bring.
She got up and slowly walked back to the beach house. She walked in and sat at the kitchen table and watched Tia fix breakfast. "Hey" Tia said softly.
"Hey......." Rach said.
"You want a muffin?" she offered one to Rach.
"Thanks..." Rach took it and slowly ate it. Tia sat down and ate hers, it was silent for a while but then Rach spoke up. "You think we will ever see them again?" she asked hopefully.
"To be honest.....I think we were lucky to see them at all this summer....Or at all in our life times...." Tia stated sadly. Rach looked down and nodded.
"Yea, your right....." she sadly replied. Her lip trembled as a tear found its way down her cheek, it made her even more sad to know that Tay wouldn't be the one to wipe it away. She slowly lifted her hand and brushed it away, then stood up and went out onto the porch. She sat in the rocking chair and brought her knees up to her chest. Tia walked out and sat in the swing. They both just stared out at the ocean for a while, remembering the time that they had spent with the three boys from Tulsa. Rach knew Tia was right, it was Hanson the "Tulsa Trio" the hit pop group who swept over the nation with greatness. She knew that she would probably never see them again, unless it was on TV or a stage that they were performing on....But she could always hope.......
Tay looked out the window as their plane landed in Tulsa, there were no screaming fans because they weren't supposed to be back for another two weeks. Summer still had a month and a half before it would be over, and he dreaded having to spend it alone....without Rach......
As they got off the plane and went into the air port Tay noticed a girl singing for money. He, Ike and Zac went over to her and listened as she sang the words to "Amazing Grace". A tear fell down Ike's cheek as he remembered when Rach hummed that song to him. He dropped a 20 dollar bill in the girls collection hat and she smiled and continued to sing. Tay noticed the girls name on her hat as he dropped a 10 in there, it read "Amy Adare". He smiled and walked away as Zac poured his pocket change into her hat. She smiled and sang.
They got into the van and went home. They all went up to their room quietly and put their things away. Zac sat on his bed and played his Game Boy and Ike wrote in his journal and Tay laid back staring at the ceiling. He thought about all the events that had occurred and implanted in his mind the first time he saw Rach.
She was jogging on the beach and stopped to stretch, and he just stared at her for a long time. Then she ran to the water and saved Zac..... He remembered her every move. He remembered the feeling of panic that rushed over his body when Zac wasn't breathing, the feeling of joy when he choked up the water and gasped for air. The unbelievable feelings of happiness when he was with Rach, and the unbearable feelings of heart break when he had to leave her......
The summer was not even close to being over and all Tia and Rach wanted to do was go home. But they couldn't even do that, their parents told them that they had decided to move, but they wouldn't tell them where they were moving to. Tia and Rachelle found it awkward that both of their parents wanted to move, in fact they found down right strange.
They sadly packed their things as they tried to figure out where they were moving to. "Maybe it will be better ya know......." Tia tried to look on the bright side.
"Yea, maybe......." Rach said sadly. She cut the radio on and "I Will Come To You" was playing. They both sat down and cried as the words blasted from the speakers. Tia hated it for Rach that all this had to happen at once, and yet she hated it for herself that her only love left her.
Rach and Tia sat on the plane singing softly,
"Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee, God of glory, Lord of love; Hearts unfold like flowers before Thee, Opening to the sun above. Melt the clouds of sin and sadness; Drive the dark of doubt away; Giver of immortal gladness, Fill us with the light of day!"
"Beautiful!" Tia's mother clapped along with Rach's. They just smiled and leaned back in their seats.
"Okay...now that we have the planes attention....." Rach laughed. Tia smiled and picked up her back pack as the plane landed. Rach grabbed her bag and stood up with Tia and exited the plane along with their parents.
"Aw.... Tulsa, Oklahoma...... What a place to be!" exclaimed Rach's dad.
"Oh My God! NO WAY!!!!!!!!" Rach and Tia yelled!
"Hey! If we can't be with them, might as well be in the same town as them!" Tia laughed and hugged Rach as they slowly made their way through the terminal.
"Now dad....remind me why we are here again....." Zac whined. It was hot and he was bored.
"I told you we are meeting some of my friends from the beach here....." Walker said a bit annoyed by Zac's whining.
"Oh..yea...what fun... Whoopie!" Zac twirled his finger above his head. Tay and Ike just laughed and stood there.
"JOYFUL JOYFUL WE ADORE THEE! GOD OF GLORY LORD OF LOVE!!!" Rach and Tia yelled while running out of the terminal and nearly tripping over each other while laughing loudly.
"Whoa who's singing gospel up in this joint?" Zac asked happy to hear some sign of life form. The air port was nearly empty because everyone was at the pools. Tay laughed and looked at the two girls who were causing so much commotion.
"Oh my god......." was all he could say. Ike looked over at them and gasped. Walker looked at his son's who were all in shock.
"Surprise........" he said.
"Oh My God, dad we love you!!" was all he got along with a bunch of hugs.
"RACH!!!!!!!! TIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Tay and Zac yelled while running to them.
"What the? Who's yellin my name???" Tia asked and looked at the guys running to them.
"RACHIE!!!!!!! Its Zac and Tay!" she said but Rach already took off leaving Tia dumb founded.
"Taylor!" Rach ran into Tay's arms and hugged him tightly. "Oh my god! I missed you so badly!!!" She said while breathing in his scent that she had missed so much.
"Not as bad as I missed you!" He held onto her tightly. Tia hugged Zac and kissed him softly.
"Ya know Rach you could have waited for me instead of leaving me lost in my thoughts...." Tia laughed. "And you know how much it hurts to think....."
"Oh my poor Tia!" Rach hugged her then hugged Zac. "Hey my lil marsh mellow!" she laughed.
"Hey Rach!" He smiled.
"Where's Ike?" Rach asked. Tay pointed to where Ike and Walker stood. She nodded and slowly walked to them. She hugged Walker first and then looked at Ike. "You look like shit!" she laughed.
"Well..... it is really hot ya know!" he smiled and hugged her. She hugged back and rested her head on his shoulder.
"Missed you." she said.
"Missed you too....." He almost hated to let her go. She smiled and kissed his cheek and Tay walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist.
"Hey there!" She laughed as he twirled her around.
"Hey!" he smiled and kissed her softly. "So you guys are the two families that are moving down the road from us...." he smiled big. Rach turned around and looked at her parents.
"Oh my god!!!!! I LOVE U!!!!!!!" she jumped into her dads arms and hugged him tightly. He laughed and smiled, she kissed him on the cheek then kissed her mom on the cheek and hugged her. Tia did the same and they hugged Tia's parents next. Everyone just laughed. Zac put his arm around Tia's shoulders as did Tay around Rach's shoulders.
"Lets go....." Tay said.
"Go where?" Tia asked.
"Uh...." He laughed.
"You girls can go our house while your parents unpack the things..." Walker said. Everyone agreed and Walker drove the kids to the Hanson house.....
