Eternity by celestia This is one of those "4's" stories: sappy, silly, sweet, & short. Just a short little J/C rant... DiSCLAiMER: Paramount owns all of trek...I'm just the lowly fanfic writer with hair in her face and ink on her hands and voices in her head who just WON'T SHUT UP!!! even when it's 2am. ESPECIALLY when it's 2am... This wasn't like her. She didn't get mad like this. She didn't pace like this. She didn't get impatient like this, and she didn't throw things. But as she passed the broken remains of the plate while she was pacing her large quarters, she realized she *had* done this. It wasn't her fault, it was Chakotay's. *He should know by now that it's a bad idea to keep Kathryn Janeway waiting!* she thought fervently. *I can't stand not knowing what's going to happen next! I can't just wait he for an eternity, while he does whatever he's doing. I have things to do! Captains always have things to do! They can't always just stay in their quarters and pace when their lover says, 'wait here, I've got a surprise for you.' Another thing: I don't know how many more surprises I can live through this week! The Kola surprised me by stealing supplies instead of trading them, the Chex surprised me by holding crew members hostage when they said that they'd give us safe passage, and the Maki surprised me by attacking without provacation!* She felt like throwing another plate. *He'd better hurry up!* She picked a plate up off the table where she and Chakotay had been eating dinner and she was about to throw it when Chakotay walked through the door, his hands behind his back. He gave her an odd look. "Re-arranging the dinnerware, Kathryn?" Kathryn put the plate down and began to regain her composure. "O-of course. It looks better this way." "With one plate in pieces?" They shared a chuckle and Chakotay took his hands from behind his back. In one he held a freshly replicated bottle of champagne, in the other, a freshly replicated bouquet of peace roses. "Oh Chakotay! They're beautiful!" She took the roses and smirked at him. "You shouldn't waste such valuable replicator rations." "If it's something for you, it's never a waste." They sat down and Chakotay leaned over the table towards Kathryn. "So...was I gone too long?" Kathryn leaned forward, so that their noses almost touched. "An eternity." ***** let's leave them alone now, shall we? ;) send any and all comments to celestia@innocent.com don't make me get out my phaser and force those comments out of you!
