Custer Monument

- The Custer Monument was built to honor General George Armstrong Custer.
George Custer was born in New Rumley, Ohio in 1839.
The Custer Monument was built in 1932. The monument was built by Erwin Frey. It is made out
of bronze. Custer went to school for 8 years in a one-
room schoolhouse. After school, he went to war to fight
against slavery. After the conclusion of the Civil War,
he went to fight again. In the year of 1876 in the
Battle of Little Big Horn he was killed by an arrow.
