HARBOR BAY YACHT CLUB

MEMBERSHIP MEETING

June 8, 2002

 

Call to Order:

Com. Barber called the meeting to order at 10:15 a.m.

 

Roll Call of Officers and Trustees:

Present were: Com. Barber, V/C Colebrook, Trustees Chontofasky and D. Righter, Treas. Smith, and Recording Secretary M. Righter.  Absent were R/C Hurst and Trustees Hope, Wondrak and Parsons.

 

Acceptance of Minutes:

Copies of minutes were distributed  and had been posted on the HBYC web site for members.

John Noyes moved to approved minutes as written. Motion was seconded and passed. 

 

Treasurer’s Report:

Treas. Smith passed out copies of the current Balance Sheet and P&L Budget vs. Actual reports.  Chuck Mead moved to approve, Motion was seconded and passed.

 

Report of Membership Renewal:

V/C Colebrook reported that the club currently had 158 members; 1 new member applicant, Stephen & Barbara Mayer, had been accepted in Trustee Meeting earlier.  He additionally reported that the Membership Rosters were done and available at the meeting for pickup.  Those not taken would be mailed the next week.  Also reported was that all door codes were now on the club computer data base, and anyone requested their door code could contact him or Dick Barber and Brian Sandridge who all have a copy of the master list.

 

Reports of Committees:

Social:  It was reported that the next social in June had a Halloween theme and anyone interested in participating in the July boat walk should contact Jeannie Brandt.

Race:  David Righter reported that the 2002 Race Season would start later that day, the 1st of 8 races. 

Cruise:  Rob Kenney not present – members were advised to contact him or the HBYC web site to see if they are confirmed for particular cruises.

ILYA & GCBA:  Reports are in the current newsletter. Com. Barber reported that he had received 49 invitations from other clubs which he would post on the back bulletin board.

Boutique:  Nancy Chontofasky reported that special orders were being sent in and that she was working on some new items, one being an HBYC Christmas ornament.

Newsletter:  Sue Young thanked all who contributed to the newsletter.

Trustees:  Com Barber reported on the previous Trustee Meeting held earlier that morning. He reported that the Long Range Planning Committee had reported on the progress of heir work.  Details will follow at a later date.  He also reported that 2 resignations had been received: one from Secretary Dennis Eddinger and one from Past Commodore Mark Haggard.  Resignations were accepted and Melinda Righter was appointed to serve as Secretary and Mike Cunningham as Past Commodore.

 

New Business:

Suggestion was made to have members report via the newsletter of any members who have health concerns and are unable to be at the marina.

 

Motion was made to adjourn; seconded and approved.
