Stuart Meyer, Founder/Artistic Director
Stuart has danced professionally with the Shalhevet International Folk Ensemble (’81-’93). (Performance appearances include Cleveland Opera, Playhouse Square (State, Palace, Ohio theatres), Cleveland Playhouse, Cleveland Convention Center, Beck Center for the Arts, WJW Morning Exchange, Fox Morning Show). Also professionally with the Csárdás Dance Company (’94-’04). (Performance appearances include Budapest Hungary, Cleveland Museum of Art, Playhouse Square (State, Palace, Ohio theatres), Beck Center for the Arts, Fox Morning Show).
Stuart has been teaching and leading Israeli dance throughout the Northeast Ohio area for over 15 years, including weekly Israeli dance classes and open sessions at the Jewish Community Center of Cleveland and children’s classes at The Temple-Tifereth Israel.
In 2006 he founded the Dance Israeli! Dance Company and serves as its Artistic Director. He is also the dance instructor for the Csárdás Youth Ensemble Dance Company.
Stuart has served on the Executive Board of Directors for the Shalhevet International Folk Ensemble and is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Csárdás Youth Ensemble.
Stuart has conducted regular college level dance classes at Oberlin College and Kent State University.
Stuart has numerous appearances leading Israeli dance and mixing Israeli music throughout Ohio: appearances include 2004 GA (UJC General Assembly, Cleveland, Ohio), JCF Beit Shean Israeli Dancing (2005, 2006) , JCF Yom Ha’atzmaut Israeli Dancing (2006-2012), Pre-Turkey Day Israeli Dance Night (1997-2012), Cleveland-Pittsburgh Israeli Dance Powow (2000-2012).
