BRITNEY AND BACKSTREET TOPS ON THE WEB

The online search engine Lycos tracks what people look at on the World Wide Web via a weekly chart known as "The Lycos 50," and you can too. Musically speaking, Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys are the most popular searches logged through the site, ranking at Number Four and Number Nine (respectively) for the week of October 12; in fact, they are the only musical artists appearing in the Top Ten. Other top searches include Pokemon (Number One), Halloween (Number Two), Dragonball Z (Number Three), WWF (Number Four), Pamela Anderson-Lee (Number Six), the NFL (Number Seven), Beanie Babies (Number Eight), and Poetry (Number Ten).
