**Chapter 20**

“Lisa!” Lauren screamed with tears running down her face as she entered Katelyn’s house where the whole wedding party was.

“Yep?” Lisa said as Lauren walked into the room where everyone was.

“Lauren, what’s wrong?” Katelyn asked seeing the tears running down her face.

“I need to talk to you two.”-Lauren

“Ok, let’s go outside,” Katelyn said as they walked out onto her porch.

“What’s wrong?”-Lisa

“I’m...I’m...pregnant,” Lauren said as she cried even harder.

“What’s so bad about that. You and Nick ARE getting married. Just tell him.”-Lisa

“See that’s the problem, I can’t. It would ruin his life...and career. I have to get away from here, but I can’t go back there either.”-Lauren

“But what about your life?”-Katelyn

“I love him too much to do this to him...” Lauren said crying even harder.

“I know.”-Lisa

“I can’t stay here either.”-Lauren

“Why not?”-Katelyn

“My parents will find out and they’ll be so upset with me...and Nick, he’ll know where to find me. I’ll move to California. Wait, all my clothes and everything else is at Nick’s.”-Lauren

“Give me a key to the place, and when I know the guys have a rehearsal I’ll go pack all your stuff up and ship it all to you.”-Lisa

“Ok, but when he asks where I am, tell him you don’t know.”-Lauren

The wedding day passed quickly and it was soon time for Lisa to go back to Florida...and for Lauren to leave for California. Lauren took Lisa to the airport.

“Hey, I’ll call you when I get to California so I can give you my address. Thanks for everything. Maybe, someday, I’ll be able to come back to Florida. Give this note to Nick for me Ok? Thanks again for everything. Bye.” Lauren said as her and Lisa hugged.

“Take care of yourself, and you’re baby. Bye.”-Lisa

Flight 1227 from Dayton, Ohio has now landed.

“I can’t wait to see Lauren.”-Nick

“...and I can’t wait to see Lisa,” Brian said as Lisa walked up the terminal.

“Lisa! Hey baby!” Brian said kissing her.

“Lisa, where is Lauren?” Nick asked with concern.

“She wanted you to have this.” Lisa said handing Nick the note. Nick opened it and read it.

Nick~

I want you to know I am not coming back to Florida...it’s not because of you. I have made this decision due to other circumstances. I will always love you Nicklolas. You were my first true love and that love I had, and still have, for you will NEVER die. I am also writing to tell you that the wedding is off, obviously. Not because I don’t love you, but so you can go on living your life. Fall in love again Nick, for me, but always remember the love I had for you, and the love you had for me. Whenever you’re lonely, think of me. I won’t be too far away. I am so happy that we met, that day back in Hawaii. It must have been fate that we met again, and maybe we’ll meet AGAIN someday. You taught me how to live life, and how to love. For this I will never forget and I will always love you Nickolas, you must always remember this. If fate chances us to meet again, then don’t hate me for doing this, I only have your best interest at heart.

Love always,

Lauren

Nick read the tear stained letter and even cried a few tears himself. He tried asking Lisa where Lauren was, but she wouldn’t give out any information. Lauren ended up moving to San Francisco, California, and 8 months later she had a baby boy with Nick’s blonde hair and blue eyes, Elijah Nickolas Carter. She met a great guy there named Westin and she dated him for almost 2 years and he along with Elijah almost filled that void in Lauren’s heart where Nick used to be. Westin was the father figure for Elijah and he loved ‘Lij as if he were his own son. When Elijah was almost 2, Westin and Lauren took him to the beach, and while Westin surfed Lauren and ‘Lij sat on the beach and watched. Things went wrong though, all of a sudden a huge wave came and Westin was swept under the water. He drowned that day. Lauren was devastated, while Elijah was way too young to understand death. About a year after the funeral, Lauren was still sad and depressed in San Francisco, so she decided to go back to Florida. Lauren didn’t want to face Nick, but when the time came that she saw him again, she knew she had to. She made arrangements for her and Elijah to stay at AJ’s place just until they found their own place.
