At the Beach by Anne Rockwell

Whale Song by Tony Johnston
THE WHALES' SONG - by Dyan Sheldon. It is about a young girl and her
grandmother who give a present to the whales so the whales will sing to
them. I have my students write: What would you give the whale? or "What is
the whale saying to you?" or "What are the whales saying to each other" and
bind it for a class book. Maybe in K you can have them draw & tell you,
then you can write their sentences for them.

HUMPHREY THE LOST WHALE - by Wendy Tokuda and Richard Hall. It is about a whale migrating to Mexico who loses his way. You can track Humphrey's
journey the wrong way, and then back out into the open seas! You can do
this on a large class map, or if your children are able you can give them a
reproducible map and have them dot the trail with a Q-Tip.

Rainbow Fish by Eric Carle

A House For Hermit Crab by Eric Carle

Is This a House for Hermit Crab by Megan McDonald

The Tickle Octopus by Audrey Wood - This is a very funny book. Take the time
to let the children repeat the cave man words. You can also choose one child
to be the tickle octopus. Whenever the tickle octopus comes out, he walks
around the circle tickling all of his friends.

An Octopus Followed Me Home by Dan Yaccarino
