A star is born!
In 1934 the Disney Studio's made a couple of Silly Symphonies , one of them was :"The Wise Little Hen".
In this cartoon a new character was introduced :Donald Duck!
(Actually the nam Donald Duck was mentioned in 1932 allready.
And a year later the duck under this appeared in a Mickey Mouse booklet.
The Donald in :"The Wise Little Hen " was Was almost the same as he is now, he looked a bit different, but he had the same voice (Clarence Nash' voice)
On 7 february Donald gots his own daily comic in a U.S. paper .
These comics were written by:"Bob Karp", and drawn by:"Al Taliaferro".
They did this for over 30 years.
Carl Barks worked in the Disney animation studios, he quit making cartoons in 1942 cause of his bad health.
He created Duckburg and most of her residents.
Between 1942 and 1966 he drew over a 6000 pages, all of real high quality, and all about Ducks.
Many reader of those stories noticed that these stories were of a much higher quality than others .
But because Disney only put Walt Disney's name above the stories ,and they didn't gave the real name of this artist, people became to call him "the Duckman".
