the sadness and the ills?
Would they tell of all the greetings,
the happiness and the thrills?

Would they tell of broken hearts,
of loves that were lost?
Would they tell of all the fancy things,
no matter what the cost?

Would they tell of all the fun,
the secrets that were shared?
Would they tell of all the quiet times,
when we showed that we cared?

Would they tell of all the good times
and of all the joys?
Would they tell of all the times
the children opened their toys?

Would they tell of all the times
there was crying and many sorrows?
Would they tell of the times we wished we
could carry today into tomorrow?

Would they tell of each new
birth and of the baby's cries?
Would they tell of all the
sharing or maybe of all the lies?
