Title: Sleepy Hollow
MPAA Rating: Rated R for graphic horror violence and gore
Genre: Horror/Mystery
Starring:
Johnny Depp, Christina Ricci, Miranda Richardson, Casper Van Dien, Christopher Walken, Michael Gambon, and Marc Pickering
Rating & Review:
Spooky!! Wow, what a great movie. Tim Burton and Johnny Depp were put on this Earth to do one thing - make great movies together. Edward Scissorhands was one of the best movies of the 90's. The Nightmare Before Christmas, the orignal Batman, and Beetlejuice were all films that we will never forget. Thank goodness Tim Burton has come back because I thought that piece of crap Mars Attacks! had destroyed him. Burton has rose up once again to bring us yet another remake of this odd tale. The costume and setting designs were simply perfect. The art direction is so real that it has been nominated for an Oscar®. Danny Elfman did a great job with the fast and furious violin music. Even though Christopher Walken didn't have a single line, he played a very good Headless Horseman. A fun, scary, exhilarating, and entertaining story with talented actors and actresses makes this a must see.
Best Part of the Movie: Tim Burton and Johnny Depp are back!
Worst Part of the Movie: If you have a weak stomach you'll never make it.

Title: The Story of Us
MPAA Rating: Rated R for language including sex-related dialogue, and brief sexuality
Genre: Romance/Drama/Comedy
Starring:
Bruce Willis, Michelle Pfeiffer, Julie Hagerty, Jordan Lund, Rob Reiner, Rita Wilson, and Paul Reiser
Rating & Review:
Here's something different. A movie about real life, real problems, real marriage, and real love. An intense look at what marriages really go through. But not all the bad things, there's a lot of romantic, touching, and funny parts too - just like real life. Yes, there is screaming, shouting, and hurtful words, but watching their emotions and what they do for each other afterwards makes this a well done, powerful movie. Bruce Willis took and big leap (and a big chance) from his 'regular action' movies. He does a great job. Willis is very believable. Even though the mood of this film told you that this was only just movie, Willis and Pfeiffer really impresses you in thinking they really are married. Why the high rating? Because you feel the emotion - good and bad - that they do, something rare in movies today. I love a happy ending, this one will make you feel good about seeing this movie. Pfeiffer's speech at the end is beautiful. I recommend it.
Best Part of the Movie: A real look at real life. A successful genre change for Bruce Willis. And a beautiful happy ending.
Worst Part of the Movie: So real that you get angry when they are.

Title: Stuart Little
MPAA Rating: Rated PG for brief mild language
Genre: Comedy/Family
Starring:
Michael J. Fox, Jennifer Tilly, Hugh Laurie, Julia Sweeney, Chazz Palminteri, Geena Davis, Jonathan Lipnicki, Nathan Lane, and Steve Zahn
Rating & Review:
Looking for a nice, little Christmas movie? Then you've come to the right place. Stuart Little is more geared to younger kids - but I think the whole family will enjoy this little adventure. I thought Michael J. Fox was just perfect for this role. The special effects in this movie are amazing! Nothing beats Toy Story's incredible visuals, but this comes close. (You can even see his little hairs bounce up and down.) With simple storylines (there's really just one) and with even simpler dialogue, this kiddie flick sends a good message and surely will be a loveable Christmas hit. I will definently recommend it. One more thing, I just love that car!
Best Part of the Movie: He's just so darn adorable!
Worst Part of the Movie: He lost the car!! Rats.

Title: Three Kings
MPAA Rating: Rated R for graphic war violence, continuous language, and brief sexuality
Genre: Action/Adventure/War/Drama
Starring:
George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg, Ice Cube, Spike Jonze, Nora Dunn, Cliff Curtis, and Mykelti Williamson
Rating & Review:
Amazing. Shocking. Sad. From the ads this movie seems like any old action-shoot-em-up, but not even close. It is very realistic. Clooney, Wahlberg, and Ice Cube give the best performances of their careers. Clooney got out of his slump of bad movies. Wahlberg makes even a bigger name for himself, and Ice Cube did a great job and really surprised me. I thought he would bring this movie down, but instead Ice Cube actually made it better. He has never been a good actor before - he proved me wrong. Director David O. Russell took a great story and transformed it into a modern masterpiece. I haven't cried at a movie since Saving Private Ryan. This sad story will seep into your emotions. Overall, one of the best movies of the year.
Best Part of the Movie: Surpising acting ability and a happy ending.
Worst Part of the Movie: Constant profanity gets old.

Rating & Review:
The toys are back in town! This movie is almost flawless. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen are perfect. And the graphics animation is just incredible! Little kids to their parents will enjoy this very funny, very good family film. If you liked the orignal, you'll love the sequel. The plot is very simple and easy to follow. Woody gets stolen and his friends try to resuce him. Best children's movie of the year. Everyone is welcome to this extraordinary adventure.
Best Part of the Movie: Good, wholesome family fun.
Worst Part of the Movie: Nothing at all.

Title: U-571
MPAA Rating: Rated PG-13 for intense, realistic war violence, and language
Genre: Action/Thriller
Starring: Matthew McConaughey, Bill Paxton, Harvey Keitel, Jon Bon Jovi, Jake Weber, David Keith, and Terrence Carson
Rating & Review:
U-571's awesome trailers are just as suspensful as the movie itself. Rebounding from the not-so-hot EDtv, Matthew McConaughey leads an all-star cast of Amercians trapped in a Germany U-boat during the thick of World War II. He was excellent, I loved his Bruce Willis-esque facial expressions. As far as performances go, Jon Bon Jovi and Harvey Keitel were a cut above the rest. Decent directing and great camera work make the underwater experience all the more entertaining. However, with that uncomfortable fakey feel, it's not the smartest action film ever made. Full on explosions and suspense, this war film is no chick flick. Good one for the guys.
Best Part of the Movie: Matthew McConaughey and the plot.
Worst Part of the Movie: Just a little unrealistic.

Title: The Whole Nine Yards
MPAA Rating: Rated R for nudity, violence, some sexuality, and some language
Genre: Comedy
Starring: Bruce Willis, Matthew Perry, Amanda Peet, Michael Clarke Duncan, Natasha Henstridge, Rosanna Arquette, and Kevin Pollak
Rating & Review:
Matthew Perry is a dentist that just tries to be a nice guy, but is always at the wrong place at the wrong time. He is in a terrible marriage and now guess who moves in next door...a notorious hit man from Chicago! Bruce Willis plays Jimmy "The Tulip" Tudeski and is just too cool with his "gotta love me" smirks. This comedy is truly hilarious, but you have to have an open mind because Matthew Perry is the same character he always plays, the guy who runs into things (for instance, Michael Clarke Duncan). Duncan is also a hit man, go figure! There is as much double-crossing in this movie than L.A. Confidential. Every single character gets double-crossed at least once (sometimes it's actually a surprise). Natasha Henstridge does a notable supporting job. But unfortunately, Rosanna Arquette and Kevin Pollak are dull and annoying. "The Whole Nine Yards" is comical, entertaining, and has a speck of romance. I suggest you check it out.
Best Part of the Movie: Matthew Perry
Worst Part of the Movie: Rosanna Arquette and Kevin Pollak

Title: Wonder Boys
MPAA Rating: Rated R for language, and drug content
Genre: Drama/Comedy
Starring: Michael Douglas, Tobey Maguire, Frances McDormand, Robert Downey Jr., Katie Holmes, Richard Thomas, and Rip Torn
Rating & Review:
I agree that after playing numerous evil corrupted millionares, Michael Douglas needed to venture out for new characters to play. I'm so glad that he did, because I absolutly loved this one. Grady Tripp's life is falling apart and it just keeps on getting worse. But at least he found his eccentric portégé, played by Tobey Maguire. Tobey is calm and realistic in his acting, which is great. One of Grady's interested students is Katie Holmes. Katie stars in TV's Dawson Creek, so I didn't expect much, boy was I blown away! She is cute and impressive. Robert Downey Jr., as diverse as he is, was cosmically comical. L.A. Confidential director Curtis Hanson is behind the camera for this radical show of emotion. With a great, inspiring scirpt and thoughtful dialogue, Wonder Boys is an entertaining, funny, and heart-warming movie. It shouldn't be missed!
Best Part of the Movie: Very Entertaining.
Worst Part of the Movie: Nothing (well, maybe the drugs).

Title: The World is Not Enough
MPAA Rating: Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of action violence, sexuality and brief innuendo
Genre: Action/Adventure
Starring:
Pierce Brosnan, Robert Carlyle, Sophie Marceau, Denise Richards, Robbie Coltrane, and Judi Dench
Rating & Review:
Bond #19. Brosnan's last but not best. Loaded with action, thrills, spills, and girls this is not necessarily well written but quite an entertaining flim. The sophisticated and sexy Sophie Marceau (Braveheart beauty) was great, she loves you, tricks you, and then tries to kill you, want else do you want from a Bond chick! If she's not enough, Denise Richards is on your side. Brosnan is the luckiest Bond so far. Cool cars and guns fill in the rest. My only peeve is the plot. Well, at least the bad guy doesn't reveal the whole plan like they always do. Recommed it? Sure, why not.
Best Part of the Movie: Cool gadgets, cars, and girls
Worst Part of the Movie: If you've seen one of the previous 18, then you've seen them all.

Title: X-Men
MPAA Rating: Rated PG-13 for sci-fi action violence
Genre: Action/Adventure/Sci-Fi
Starring: Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, James Marsden, Halle Berry, Famke Janssen, Anna Paquin, Tyler Mane, and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos
Rating & Review:
What can I say, I am a fan of X-Men. I had a feeling that Hollywood would spoil their legacy by changing characters and getting facts wrong. I was surprised I liked this movies. Hugh Jackman was the perfect Wolverine. It was amazing how he captured the comic book character's every grunt, scream, and shaggy facial hair! No one in the world looks like Professor Xavier like Patrick Stewart does. It is really uncanny. As for the characters, Ian McKellen played Magneto well, Cyclops could have used more spark, and why is Halle Berry in this movie? She didn't act like Storm at all and she butchered the accent. Rebecca Romijn-Stamos had some very gymnastic kung-fu, even if she was blue and rubbery. And you may remember Toad (Ray Park) as Darth Maul from Star Wars. Marvelously, X-Men has a plot!! And it is surrounding Rouge and her unique power stealing gift. The setting takes place in the eariler years, when Wolverine first associated himself with the X-Men. But their is one big complaint: where are the original costumes? Anyway, check it out.
Best Part of the Movie: Accurate to X-Men's history.
Worst Part of the Movie: Apocalypse didn't make an apperance.
