Jocelyn "Jaws" KarlesteinAffiliation: Bauhaus, Family: Karlestein, Rank: Magistrate |
If you've read the file on Guiness, you know part of Jocelyn's story. If you haven't read that yet, you should read this and then go read his. Just bear in mind that Scott, the GM was a very lonely man, and try not to take too much offense at that which is posted. Also, I'm not terribly sure how she got the nickname "Jaws" in character. To be honest, I try not to think about it. |

Magistrate Karlestein is a member of the Nobility of the Bahaus corporation and a member of the law enforcement of the Venusian Government. She is seven feet tall and has a very noble bearing. Her accent is almost German and her grammar is impeccable, as she's been taught by the best teachers available. Her hair is shoulder length, and blonde and her armor hides a very feminine, albeit well-toned form. Her ice blue gaze is enough to stop many criminals in their tracks, if they were to see them. Of course, they're usually covered by her helmet, which bears the coat of arms of the Karlestien family. When not on duty, she enjoys wearing fashionable, yet utilitarian clothing. Most of the time she only wears a small sidearm. When in uniform, she usually keeps on her person a large energy weapon, an energy-enhanced sword, a Karlestein family sabre, and her smaller sidearm. However, when she needs big guns, she owns a large rocket launcher for those times when her prey seems to have locked themselves into a building and can't come out. Jocelyn was spending her vacation on Pilgrimage with her lover, Major Randall Guiness of the Imperial Forces, whom she was ten years his senior. The story of this strange couple is that at a high class party, he (being the patriotic Wolfbane that he is) drunkenly groped her. Being nobility, she could not stand for this insult and challenged him to a duel, which she, being the better swordsman (even if he hadn't been drunk) won. He woke up the next morning in her bed, with a monstrous hangover and a wealthy Bauhaus lover. When Guiness got his call from Lynette Debonaire (an enemy of Karlestein's; Jocelyn once personally bested Lynette in battle, though partially from pure luck), Jocelyn grudgingly agreed to assist her boyfriend rescue the lost Wolfbane, joining the strange group of warriors he assembled. At one point on Fujikawa, a Triad warrior disemboweled Guiness, and only the timely healing of the group's Reviser saved his life. However, at this time, Jocelyn made a terrible enemy out of Dirk Smith, by spitting in his face twice for merely laughing as her boyfriend fell before the katanas of the enemy and then when he flicked his cigarette at her. Later when the two of them were left to guard a Mishiman from a separate Triad, Dirk, who had secretly become a Heretic, attacked her, trying to kill her with his shotgun, then after she found cover, trying to blow her up with hand grenades. While Dirk was killing the Triad leader, though, she managed to get in close enough to him to attack him with her sword. Though she thought she had taken his head off, something happened and she had to take his head off again. After the Battle-lust had faded and she realized just what had happened, she went into shock and stood over the corpse, weeping until Guiness and the rest of the team returned and Guiness took her away to comfort her. The next thing she remembers is hearing Randall scream in pain. Running out from her room, she found the living room a wreck with a large monster dog standing above the still body of Guiness, an evil looking woman standing by the doorway, looking at Guiness threateningly and Dirk's brother, Dick cackling insanely. Sparked into action by the sight of her love's motionless body, she ran and snatched up his Claymore, which holds strong enchantments against evil beings and attacked the strange female Heretic, injuring her before she turned around and using her magic, made the breastplate of Karlestein's armor vanish, leaving her quite... exposed... The last thing she remembers is seeing Dick motion at her, after staring for about 5 minutes... and then suffering what should have been a fatal heart attack... except that Inquisitor MacGuire has a thing for wasting, in his own words, a perfect body...
