February 20'th, 1999 at 9:35 P.M. in Muskingum County

On the night of Saturday February 20'th, a woman whom I'll call Mrs. J had just left her residence in Muskingum County, Ohio to go to Coshocton and go to work. She was driving east on a gravel road about to come upon a state route. She was in her recently purchased van. Suddenly, from her left, a large Bigfoot creature crossed the road right in front of her. It crossed from her left to the right, walked into the underbrush, up a hill and into the forest. The skies were clear and the temperature was about 25°. At the same time, two young people were parked in a car on the left side of the road as Mrs. J approached. After Mrs. J realized she had just seen a Bigfoot, she turned around and stopped beside the vehicle the youths were in. Mrs. J got out of her van, approached the car and spoke with the teenage boy and girl. They told Mrs. J that they had been hearing odd noises coming from a short distance away but didnt know what it was they were hearing. Then as Mrs. J approached, the Bigfoot began to walk across the road. The two youths could see the creature cross the road with the aid of the van headlights, which were on high beam.

Marc DeWerth and I went to the location on the 21'st of February and scoured the area for tracks, broken branches, anything we could find confirming there had been a Bigfoot in the area less than 24 hours before we were. Sorry to say, we discovered no physical evidence that confirmed Bigfoots presence the night before. So, does that mean the three witnesses were making up the story? Of course not. Remember the temperature was in the mid-20's and the ground was frozen. I'm not the least bit surprised that there were no tracks or anything else discovred. I've known Mrs. J for about a year and what I know of her I can assure you that she is not the type of person to fabricate such a story. Incidently, the sighting took place at about 9:35 p.m.

It was also reported to me that the creature took four steps to cross the road. Upon investigation Marc and I measured the width of the road. It measured 28 feet from side to side. So, there were four steps, covering 28 feet, which means it covered seven feet with each step. It was also estimated at the site that the creature was easily eight feet tall.

This photo shows the area where the alleged Sasquatch was seen. The arrow points to a pole it walked past. It was estimated in the field that the creature was about eight (8) feet in height by comparing where the top of the head was on the pole.

This photo was taken on a nearby hill by Marc De Werth. Looking down to where the road appears to run into the woods towards the top of the picture is where the witnesses spotted the creature.
