I saw "Batman and Robin" on opening night.

Please bring back Val Kilmer as Batman!! Clooney was horrible!!

On the positive side, Chris O'Donnell as Robin, Ahnold as Freeze and Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy were great. Alicia Silverstone was pretty good as Batgirl. She looked great in her Batgirl outfit, almost as good as Michelle Phieffer in the Catwoman suit. But Clooney as Bats? Definitely the worst I've seen so far. (He's even worse than Adam West from the old Batman TV show now running on FX)

Let's take a brief look at the 4 Batman movies.

Batman--1989--Michael Keaton as Batman and Jack Nicholson as The Joker

An excellent debut movie for Bat fans. Keaton was fine as Batman but Nicholson stole the show as the Joker. This is a must see for all Bat fans. One regret-- I just wish they wouldn't have killed off Joker at the end. I'd love to see a rematch!

Batman Returns--1992--Keaton as Batman--Danny DeVito as Penguin--Michelle Pheiffer as Catwoman Not a bad sequel to the original, but, it could have been better. Catwoman looked great in her skin tight suit, (definitely worth the price of admission!) Look for Pee-Wee Herman in a cameo as Penguins dad at the beginning of the movie. One great question--did Catwoman die at the end of the movie?? I don't think so. I'd like to see them team her with Riddler in a future Batman movie.

Batman Forever--1995--Val Kilmer as Batman--Chris O'D as Robin--Jim Carrey as Riddler--Tommy Lee Jones as Two Face My personal favorite Batman movie to date. Lot's of action, the introduction of Robin and the hysterical Jim Carrey as the Riddler made for a fantastic movie. Thankfully they didnt kill off Riddler at the end. He now resides in Arkham Asylum, (hopefully plotting his revenge against Bats) Key question from this movie-- The Riddler was able to discover Batman and Robins secret identities, will he still have that knowledge when he returns to battle the dynamic duo?

Batman and Robin--1997--Clooney as Batman--O'D as Robin--Ahnold as Freeze--Uma as Poison Ivy

Don't get me wrong, (holy mis-information, Batman), it's not a bad movie--but Clooney, in my opinion, was horrible as Batman. Heck, Pee-Wee could've done better!! Stick to TV, George, that's where you belong. I don't watch him on the tube so why would I want to spend cold hard cash to see him on the big screen!! Holy Refund, Batman!!

But seriously, Chris OD was really great, (Robin saves the day). Mr Freeze and Poison Ivy were also terrific. Batgirl was pretty cool too. I don't want to give away the plot, but, it could have been a bit better. Some of the "humor" was very corny. The action scenes were pretty good though. The Batmobile was disappointing, "Holy covertible--Batman". I just cant see Bats driving around Gotham City with the top down!! Can you say easy target? And Bane? He didn't say a word in the movie, so neither will I!! "Holy tongue twister, Batman!!"

Batman 5--(rumored to be titled "Batman Triumphant"

A couple of rumors I've gathered via the web or magazines--1) Batman takes on the Scarecrow (Robin is now at college and on the verge of becoming Nightwing; Batgirl? Unsure at this time. Scarecrow conjures up images Batmans previous battles with the Joker, a nice way to bring back Nicholson.

2) The storyline will follow the "Knightfall" storyline from the DC comic. (Batman is defeated by Bane, Azrael dons the suit and takes down Bane. Tim Drake, the current Robin in the DC Universe, becomes the new Robin and joins with Nightwing to try and reclaim the mantle of the Bat. By now Bruce Wayne has healed and he does battle with Azrael.
