Don't cry if there was no goodbye,
if someone slipped away
the minute that your back was turned
when you'd been there all day
Don't sigh and wish you had been there
to help them on their way
a kiss, a hug, a gentle word
perhaps a little prayer
Be glad instead that they were helped
across that great abyss
Now they are free to come and go
and visit who they miss
So think of them quite often
ask them how they are
look up into the Heavens
and see the Evening Star
Their love burns just as brightly
They will not go away
They are your Guardian Angel
and with you night and day.
