The Riddler!

A collaborative webquest by and for the students of  North Ogden Junior High School in North Ogden, Utah  and John C. Dempsey Middle School in Delaware, Ohio.

Riddle:a problem or puzzle in the form of a
question, statement, etc., so formulated that some
ingenuity is required to solve or answer it.

Here's how The Riddler! works...

1.  Students in Mr. Reese's class in North Ogden, Utah and students in Mr. Hollinger's  class in Delaware, Ohio each pick a person, place, orevent to learn more about.

2.  Students do research on the internet about their chosen person, place, or event in order to become the class expert on that subject.

3.  Each student creates one riddle for posting on his/her class Riddler! web site.  Ohio students post their riddles on their class web site and students in Utah post their riddles on their class web site.  Some students may choose to post more than one riddle.

4.  The two schools post their web sites on a mutually agreed upon date.

5.  Students at North Ogden Junior High visit the Dempsey Middle School students' web site and study their riddles.  Then, using web based resources, they try to solve the Dempsey Middle School students' riddles.  At the same time Delaware students are attempting to solve the riddles they find posted on the North Ogden Junior High web site.

6.  On a mutually agreed upon date Ohio and Utah schools post the solutions to their respective riddles on their Riddler! web sites.  Teachers in both schools supervise the scoring of students' efforts.

7.  Top performers, as judged by their teachers, are listed in The Riddler!Hall of Fame.
