Friday, March 9 Dear vicarious travellers, So i went to the koala sanctuary today and they make you pay to take a pic with the koalas. you get to hold one. so i was all excited and i paid my 13 australian and i got to hold the koala. and she bit me! her name was gypsy. she very much enjoyed my shirt. bit me twice. the pic you're seeing is the second such occassion when i was a bit (no pun intended) scared. (but i wanted my money's worth!) plus we had just been to this talk about koalas and the guy even mentioned that some of them have chlamydia. so after i was bit the first time i said to the handler, half jokingly, that i hope i won't get chlamydia. he found that very insulting! haha no wonder the thing bit me! :P and after my one of a kind souvenir gypsy was retired back to her tree to get some sorely needed sedative in the form of eucalyptus. I went and chilled with the kangaroos. They're nicer, although it probably didn't hurt that we had little bags of food for them.
P.S. The chaos-implying blotches are really just rain. They add to the whole 'trauma of a koala" thing.
