Jamey
Ida Hamilton

Jamey

Physical: Jamey is small, about 5'0", maybe shorter, stong as an ox, with brownish/red hair(like a deep auburn) and deep, dark brown eyes that turn black when she's mad.

Jamey has a quick temper that she's had problems controlling in the past, and little patience. Her father was a scoutleader on the Sante Fe trail. Jamey jokes to her friends that she was "born in a saddle". Jamey's an orphan now, her father, a big, rough man, was wounded several times by bandits and natives, the works, but finally died of a heart attack when Jamey was twelve. Jamey's mother was an Indian, who died of illness before her daughter's first birthday, and though Jamey doesn't really resemble her mother, she has her mother's eyes.

Vladimir and Anna first met Jamey when she attempted to pick their pockets when they first arrived in town. Although Maria wanted to press charges, Anna thought there was something worthwhile in the young lady and convinced Vladimir to let it go. Later, Jamey was the only one of her gang caught robbing Hank's Saloon. There was an altercation in which Hank and Vladimir were both injured. Vladimir again took pity on the girl, and so did sheriff Daniel Simon, and she was set free for a second time. Later, Anna found Jamey hiding in the Sokolov's new house. After securing the house, Vladimir and Anna decided to take Jamey in, as long as Jamey was willing to tell them the truth and to study and do chores. Jamey had nowhere else to go, so she took them up on their kind offer, and is beginning to regard Vladimir and Anna as the kind of parents she never thought she'd have. She also finds herself very attracted to sheriff Daniel Simon. The sheriff is also attracted to Jamey, in spite of himself.

Ida Hamilton

Physical: Blond hair, that never stays where it's supposed to. Bright, hazelnut eyes, small and stocky build.

Miss Hamilton arrived in Colorado Springs, answering the ad that Mayor Slicker had put out to announce the open teaching position at the school. Although he had already hired Mr. Sokolov, and he was working out very well, the Mayor was hoping to find somebody...without an accent. However, Teresa was becoming good friends with Mrs. Sokolov, not to mention that Michaela discovered that Jake was not giving Vladimir a fair chance at the position. The town decided on a compromise. The school would be expanded, and the students divided between Mr. Sokolov, who would take the older students, and Miss Hamilton, who would take the younger students. Miss Hamilton also had impressive credentials, and her views on discipline and fun and their proper balance was to her credit.
