Theseus

Theseus, son of Poseidon, was the first king of Athens and a hero of great renown.
When Theseus was of age, he performed 6 labors on his way to Athens.
When he was greeted by his step-father and step-mother, Medea tried to kill him but Theseus performed other feats and survived. Theseus then went to Crete and chopped off the head of the Minotaur with the help of Ariadne, daughter of Minos.
On his way back to Athens, Theseus abandoned Ariadne at Naxos and married her sister.
While he was gone, his step-father died and Theseus united the city states and became king of Athens.
Some of his other adventures were sailing on the Argo, kidnapping Helen, creating the Isthmian Games in honor of Poseidon, and trying to rescue Persephone.
Theseus died after being pushed off a cliff.
