Teens Showing the Critics Wrong

The stereotype of a teen is that they run around partying, wasting their life away. Although there are many examples of teenagers who give this world a bad example on how students should act, there are many that actually do display good qualities. Two people in particular, have demonstrated good qualities as a person and have exemplified exceptional behavior as a student.

Michael Davis, from Providence, Rhode Island, is a caring; giving person whom does not waste time caring for himself. Rather, Michael gives his time to others by serving food to charities or tutoring other children that have parents from other countries. On the weekends he mentors children who are learning to tutor other children. "With all the bad stuff that happens in the world, I’d figure it’s a good idea once in a while to do something good and help someone else, because you never know when you’re going to need help yourself one day," Michael stated. This quote demonstrates his will to be different from the rest of the world, also trying to keep some moral in the world. Many of Michael’s teachers all agree that he gives all his heart and strength toward whatever goal he may be trying to accomplish.

Allison Barker, from Bristol, Rhode Island, has a heart greater than any person that just received a brand new heart from a transplant does. Allison hates to see people suffer, and will do anything to help out. For example, Allison made fifty Christmas cards for people presently in the hospital. Allison voiced her opinion as "I am not stuck in a hospital bed. I am perfectly capable of helping people, and I should do it." Allison also despises the amount of violence and hatred going on in the world. She participated in a group called Students as Mediators, a group dedicated to help mediate conflicts between students. Allison ends by just saying, "I just do my part." If everyone in this world does his or her part like Allison, this world would be complete.
