Smackdown Column Where is the old Bret? Why is WCW destroying the Hitman Character? By jÅ®®ËÐ ³:¹6 Bret Hart back in the WWF, the Hitman... The Old Bret! The reason I started to watch the World Wrestling Federation was because I played a Super Nintendo Game called WWF Raw! I played that game everyday and I was always the Hitman Bret Hart! Bret had good moves in that game and when I watched him wrestle on television for the first time, I knew he was the best there is, the best there was, and the best he ever will be! Everytime I'd turn on the television and turn it to the World Wrestling Federation I would see Bret Hart talking and then beat the crap out of his opponent! Bret was always doing something on WWF Raw, whether it was fighting his rivals in a steel cage or wrestling jabronis in the opening match, Bret always did his best to impress the fans. After Bret became the World Wrestling Federation Champion for the fifth time by defeating Diesel at Survivor Series, he had to wrestle more powerful and technical wrestlers on WWF Raw. Then as soon as the next Pay Per View happened he fought his brother in law in one of the best matches I have ever seen! It was Bret Hart VS The British Bulldog for the World Wrestling Federation title with Bret's sister Diana Smith at ringside. The pressure was on Bret as his sister and brother in law were there, it was for the championship, and at that time Bret had never beaten the Bulldog in a singles match. Throughout that match I seen every move Bret and the Bulldog could do and I also seen Bret get busted open! After Bret one that match I had more respect for the Hitman and actually had respect for the Bulldog. That match were one of those matches you like to rewind and watch again. The World Wrestling Federation then got the gay-boy, Shawn Micheals and he won the Royal Rumble and advanced to Wrestlemania 12! At Wrestlemania 12 Bret Hart kicked Shawn Micheals ass for sixty minutes and Gorilla Monsoon ordered the match to continue and Shawn Micheals won. Bret was obviously pissed so he lefted the World Wrestling Federation for about six months and he returned to wrestle Stone Cold Steve Austin at Survivor Series'96. At last the Hitman was BACK! Bret was back better than ever and he got screwed out of the title and then the Royal Rumble! (That's good now Vince) At the Final Four Bret won the title and then got screwed out of it twenty-four hours later. Bret was pissed again and he got even at Stone Cold at Wrestlemania 13. Wrestlemania 13's I QUIT match was an all out, no holds barred BLOOD BATH! At a wicked WWF match Vince McMahon made Bret the "bad guy". As the months pass Bret created the Hart Foundation and then he made the United States the "bad guys". Bret became the World Wrestling Federation Champion for the 5th time at Summerslam'97. The Hitman was born again, in Canada anyway. Bret was again the Hitman, wrestling every night on WWF Raw is War. Bret "Hitman" Hart is a Legend! Bret started to hate Vince McMahon and the way the WWF was going, so he signed a three year 9 million dollar contract with World Championship Wrestling. Bret was still the WWF Champion when the contract was signed and he was to fight Shawn Micheals at Survivor Series'97. Vince McMahon wanted Bret to lose to Shawn in front of his Canadian fans but Bret said he would beat Shawn and then forfeit the title the next night. McMahon agreed to that and during the match Shawn put Bret in the Sharpshooter and the bell rang and Bret didn't submit. Once again Bret was screwed and stripped of his title and pride. Bret was so angry he punched McMahon's eye and broke his hand. When Bret came to World Championship Wrestling it seemed that Bret Hart was once again Bret "Hitman" Hart. He wrestled almost every week on WCW Nitro and he had respect from the fans. Then WCW started to destroy the Hitman character by making him join the nWo. From there Bret became a "bad guy" again. The fans had no respect for him or the nWo. Bret disliked all the fans hating him so he tried to get the WCW up in Canada. When that day came the Hitman out smarted Goldberg and the Fans loved it! Then WCW never went back to Canada and Bret "Hitman" Hart is slowly being destroyed by World Championship Wrestling. In the future Bret Hart will hopefully be remebered as one of the greatest wrestlers ever and they will call him Bret "Hitman" Hart not just Bret Hart. E-Mail Me BACK TO NEWEST SMACKDOWN COLUMN>>>
