HOW TO GET A GOLDEN CHOCOBO
This will take allot of TIME, MONEY, and PATIENCE, so if you don't
want to take the time to get this chocobo, then don't. I really recommend it though.
And it is really not that hard if you follow the guidelines to the "T".
- First get a Great chocobo female and a Good chocobo male
- The "Good" male you will get from the land off of the gold saucer
- The "Great female will come from the land around Mideel
- Next you need to give the great and the good chocobo some silkas greens
that you buy from the chocobo sage in the Northern Continent. You will have to
give them 10 each so that's 100,000 gil!
- You will then want to Race the "Great" female(or male depending on your good chocobo's
status) and get it up to Ranking "A". It takes absolutely three races to move up
one rank, so you will have to race each chocobo six times, to get an "A" ranking.
- Do the same with the "Good" Chocobo that you did with the "Great" one
- The Next thing that you want to do is to breed the Chocobo's that you
caught and then raced.(There is an option to do this when you talk to
choco billy)
- First you will take the Highwind up to the Northern Continent, around
bone villlage. There you will go down along the peninsula. You should run into
a dinosaur looking creature. When you fighting him, Steal a Carob Nut from him.
Keep in mind that you will need three of these(this means you will have to fight him
three times). The purpose of the Carob nut is to breed the chocobo with it.
- Then you will go back to the Chocobo Farm and try to breed Chocobos. I STRONGLY
recommend that you save the game before you try to breed, because you may not always
get the right color or gender. When you breed them the first time you should
get a Blue or Green chocobo. Keep note of the gender.
- You will now need to waste some time to breed the same two again or you can race the
one you have up to rank "A", because you going to need him or her up to rank "A", anyway.
- Next, get another Carob Nut from the Dinosaur lookin' creature around the
Bone Village.
- Then Before you breed again, SAVE the game just in case you don't get the
right gender or color. If not just reset the game and try again. You will need
to get a blue chocobo, if you got a green one last time, and vise versa. They need to
be opposite genders too.
- So now you should have 4 chocobo's(or 5 if you got a Wonderful one).
2(or 3) yellow ones and a blue and a green one, of opposing genders.
- Now you will have to spend more money for 20 silkas greens for your
two new chocobo's. This will take another 100,000 gil. Give the greens to
the chocobo's and race them at the gold saucer. This may take a while but
the speed for the chocobo's this time will be high, so you should win every race
pretty handlely. I had both my chocobos over 105 kph! so it should be no trouble.
- When you get the chocobos (green and blue) up to ranking "A". You may want
to waste some time by fighting, and getting level up, before you breed them.
- Now, before you breed the two colored chocobos, you will need to do 2 things.
- Get another carob nut from the dinosaur lookin' creature around Bone Village.
- If you don't already have one, get a wonderful chocobo, around the Northern Continent
- The next thing to do is to breed the Green and the Blue chocobos. When you do
this you should get a black chocobo. Make absolutely sure that this chocobo is a MALE, and
your wonderful yellow one is a female. If they are not you may see yourself at the beginning again,
and I know that you don't want that. The idea is to breed the wonderful one and the black one to hopefully
get a GOLDEN CHOCOBO. But before you do this you need to give the black one 10 silkas greens(and the
wonderful one if you have not already). Then you need to do the Gold Saucer thing again(fun,fun,fun!).
- Then, finally you have all of your chocobo's to ranking "A". I must note that your first two chocobos
YOU SHOULD HAVE RELEASED BY NOW, to make room for the green, black, blue, and other yellow(wonderful) one.
- Now after you have wasted a little time, breed the Black male and the yellow(wonderful) female.
- You first must get a ZIEO NUT from the goblins with boxing gloves on there hands.
- The goblins are directly northeast of the chocobo ranch. You should see a chain
of islands. Go to the one that has the forest on it(or the biggest one.) When
you run into them, you may have to steal a couple of times, because these guys don't like
to give up there nuts!( please don't read into that).
- When you have the ZIEO NUT then go back and breed the black and the Yellow chocobo
Now you should have a GOLDEN CHOCOBO(it usually only takes one try)!!!!!!!!!
You can now go anywhere on the WORLD MAP!!!
