Cloud Strife is the hero of the story. As an ex-member of SOLDIER, he is called upon by Barret Wallace(leader of AVALANCHE) to help his group, to blow up the reactor in sector 8. Cloud is needing money so he agrees to this, only to realize that his real journey is yet to begin. He finds himself involved in a perilous trek to set right the horrid plans of the President Shinra.
