Barrett Wallace is the current leader of a rebel group(of sorts) called AVALANCHE. He gets cloud to fight with him so the evil President Shinra can be stripped of his power and the people that live in the slums can breath clean air again. He along with Tifa, Wedge, and a slew of others convince cloud to fight for the group AVALANCHE. He is trying to blow up all the reactors in the plate so the Mako energy that is being sucked out of the Planet, will not drain it completely. Barret depends on brute strength and his gun-arm to see him through the barriers of shinra.
