Culture Shock -Part 6-
"Oh wow, you've got some nice jewelry," AJ commented, noticing the silver pieces that rested in the glass case."Glad you like it. All of the jewelry I'm wearing is from here. They're one-of-a-kind works. All Native American crafted. I adore all mine," Alexandra said showing off her rings and necklaces.
"Really? May I see that ring there?"
Alexandra took the silver band out of the case and handed it to AJ. He placed it on his ring finger and admired it. "D, what do you think?"
"Totally off the racks," Howie said in a high-pitched voice that made the other two laugh.
"It looks great on you," Alexandra smiled. "And I mean that, I'm not just trying to sell it to you."
"Thanks," AJ paused, looking at Alexandra. "Do you really not know who we are?"
Sighing, Alexandra leaned her cheek against her hand. "Well, I thought I did. Are you in that Menudo group? You're Latin and all," she asked as Howie almost fell over laughing at the cross look on his friend's face.
"No, we never have been or will ever be in Menudo." AJ grumbled, more than a bit ticked off. "Look, I'm going to set you straight. Come to our concert tonight and maybe you'll remember who we are."
Alexandra's eyes widened. "Free concert? Could I get a ticket for a friend, too? She works here as a tour guide."
"Sure, that sounds doable," AJ shrugged as Aaron and Miranda burst into the shop with Kevin and Brian not far behind.
"You are in deep trouble, little man," Howie stated.
"Yeah, I know, I know." Aaron looked more than a little disheartened.
"Do you know where the lady I was with went?" Miranda asked the girl behind the counter as she looked around the shop.
"Yeah, she left here with the tall blonde guy."
"Nick," Aaron sighed. "He's my brother. Did they go to look around the whole museum?"
"I think so. I think it would be best if you stuck around here. I'm sure they will head back this way." Walking out from behind the counter, she wrapped an arm around each of the kids. "Why don't you two pick something out of the store, my treat." Alexandra winked as the two kids went to look.

"This is hopeless!" Nikki stopped to catch her breath.
"Yeah, well, this is all your fault." Nick muttered the now familiar phrase as he leaned down to drink out of the water fountain. They were now back at the front of the museum.
Throwing her hands into the air, Nikki fumed. "Here we go again! It's my fault? How can you say that? I've done everything to try and help you out." Furious, Nikki pushed Nick in the chest. "We wouldn't be here right now if it wasn't for you and your brother."
"What are you saying? That my little brother is to blame for our problems right now?" Nick's jaw dropped. Both were oblivious to the people surrounding them.
A few lucky girls from the pack following the Boys earlier made it into the museum and were staring in awe.
"Lover's spat?" One whispered.
"Let's hope," whispered another.
They crept closer to where the pair was arguing.
"What I'm saying is that we wouldn't be standing here fighting if your little brother hadn't run away from the group." Nikki crossed her arms as she glared up at Nick. "Not to mention the fact that you obviously aren't responsible enough to watch out for him."
"What about your little girl?" Distracted, Nick pulled a leaf out of his shirtsleeve and tossed it in a nearby trash can. "She's the one that convinced him to take off with her!"
The two fans turned to stare at each other in shock. "Nick is dating a girl with a kid?"
"We've got to tell everyone!" They barreled out the doors to tell their friends waiting outside.
"You are so on drugs! I canft believe I even agreed to this! I swear, if I ever see you again, it will be too soon," Nikki yelled.
"Look, we still have two missing kids to find and us screaming and yelling at each other isn't going to help," Nick finally noticed the staring museum-goers.
"Right now, I just want to get away from you as soon as possible. I wouldn't be in this mess if you and your brother hadn't come along! What if something bad happened to them? What if someone has taken them? We've been all over this museum and no sign. What if-?" Nikki rambled on, tears springing to her eyes.
Nick realized that it was the frustration and worry talking. Grabbing Nikki by the shoulders, he made her look up at him. "Nothing bad has happened. I know it. Trust me, they are going to be fine." Nick tried to comfort her by rubbing her shoulders.
"Okay," she said, breathing deeply. "Let's get back to the gift shop."
