You are an unwelcome companion that never seems to leave
I have spent many nights in your company
I know you well
You never speak back to me,
You never answer when I ask you who shall take your place
Maybe no one ever will
Misery
I have felt your cold touch on my shoulder
I have spent equal time in your presence
Never did you reach out to wipe my tears
You are just as unwelcome and unwanted
What purpose to you bring to my life?
While now I have both of you here at once
An introduction is in order is it not?
If it is true what I have heard of you Misery,
that you love company,
then I give you loneliness.
And now loneliness is no more
and Misery is happy,
But here I sit still alone,
miserably lonely.
