Listen closely over your whining voice.
Can you hear it?
The ticking-
Steady and constant.
Over your screaming rant it may be just audible.
Give it time,
It gets louder as you do.
I think you want me to feel pain
For you and your anger that you can't deal with.
Listen to it now.
I believe you are convinced of your righteous nonsense.
I am but a nuisance and a liar.
I must yell to mask the noise coming from within me
As you scream out your pathetic cries for help as if your loneliness is my fault.
I feel the ticking shaking my body.
My blood pooling in my fists as they turn white from the clenching.
My teeth grinding into powder as I stare at you in your pathetic glory.
Crying out for attention and screaming for help
while justifying your sorrow by blaming me for it all.
The ticking is almost deafening.
It is getting nearer.
When you can hear it,
Stand back.
Because your troubles will be over
And a whole new sorrow will begin.
I promise you that.
Just keep listening.
