E
very once and a while something will come across The Consigliere's™ desk that he feels he wants to share it with everyone. So each week we shall post something different that he wants us to share with everyone.
This week we shall feature "Subject: Rich Or Poor?"
T here is an email form included at the bottom of this page to send this to everyone you know.
H
i All!
Please let this uplift you this afternoon as it did me! We have lots to
learn from our children!
O ne day a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the firm purpose of showing his son how poor people can be.
T hey spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family. On their return from the trip the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"
"I t was great Dad!"
"D id you see how poor people can be?" the father asked.
"O h yeah," said the son.
"S o what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.
T
he son answered,
"I saw we have one dog and they have four.
We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end.
We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night.
Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.
We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond
our sight.
We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.
We buy our food, but they grow theirs.
We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to
protect them".
W ith this the boy's father was speechless.
T
hen his son added,
"Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are."
T here is always a different point of view. Sometimes in our struggle for "net worth" we forget what really matters most is our happiness in life.
T oday, inspire a friend or family member to take a second look at their life and decide whether they are "rich" or "poor".
I hope your life is a rich one :- )
