For as long as I can remember, I've had a "thing" about quotations. I've got them jotted down on scraps of paper, scribbled in envelopes and inside a zillion notbooks. Someday I may actually organize them all, but that would take the fun away from finding little pearls of wisdom tucked away in some forgotten cubbyhole. Here's just a few of my favorites...

~ Jane Porter

If you don't know where you are going, you can never get lost.

Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense. This day is all that is good and fair. It is too dear, with its hopes and invitations, to waste a moment on yesterdays.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

You shall be free indeed when your days are not without a care nor your nights without want and grief, but rather when these things girdle your life and yet you rise above them naked and unbound.
