Dear Birth Parent, hello and thank you for reading our letter. We are Rolando and Dawn and we have been looking forward to that special time when we would be able to adopt a baby. We are so very fortunate to have lots of cousins, uncles, aunts who are eager to share their hearts and their support to our child. Rolando and I have been married for 14 years and have always wanted children. We both had extremely enjoyable childhoods and wonderful role models for parents. Our parents gave us lots of hugs and kisses, home cooked meals,family game nights, trips to the beach, help with homework, music lessons, family vacations and backyard barbecues. Now it is our turn to share this wonderful gift of love to our child. We are very excited and so looking forward to this special time.
We love to travel and one of our special places to visit is Puerto Rico where Rolando has a lot of family who love to share their wonderful Latin culture with us. We most enjoy taking the ferry to Old San Juan where we listen to music, dance,eat and visit with family. Rolando and I live on a very pretty street just a few blocks away from a small park and 4 minutes away from the beach. We most enjoy bike rides, spending time at the beach, driving to the lake, visiting the theatre and attending outdoor concerts.
Both Rolando and I were born in New York and although I grew up in Arizona and spend a lot of my free time there, I love the cultural diversity of the City. Rolando and I met on a blind date and he thought that I had a very sweet and giving nature. We had a similar interest in music and performing and our cultural heritage was similar. We have worked very hard to celebrate diversity in our home and our children will benefit from Rolando's Puerto Rician culture and Dawn's African/Native American and Caribbean heritage.
