A quick comment:     Back to Review A-II     Back to Ultra Magnus Homepage

This is my first world smallest T.F. Magnus figure.  My only reason for picking this figure because I'm a huge fan of Magnus.  I got Magnus on Oct. Xxii, Mmiv and it cost me $XVI.L (XXI.LXXX) from Ebay.

R-0 Original Magnus' motto and tech specifications:

Affiliate: autobots | Subgroup: none | Function: city commander | Alt. Mode: COE dual axle truck|

| STR 9 | INTL 9 | SPD 6 | ENDN 8 | RNK 8 | CRG 9 | FRPW 6 | SKL 8 |

Original G1 Ultra Magnus' Motto:

"Consistency is victory."

Original G1 Ultra Magnus' Bio:

Ultra Magnus is all soldier.  Most comfortable when carrying out Optimus Prime's orders.  Possesses magnificent fighting skills, courage, and a gift for battlefield improvisation.  Uncomfortable in the mantle of leadership, but presents strong profile as a commander.  Carries missile launchers capable of hitting a target 30 miles away.  Resolute, fair, and courageous beyond reproach.  Ever ready to sacrifice himself for the good of men and mission.

R-1 World Smallest T.F. Magnus in its Original condition:

magnuswstorig.jpg (58448 bytes)1 - Magnus in its brand new condition from the box.

2 - Back box art showed Megatron toy along with Dreamwave art (g1 vol#1 issue #1), Secret chase figure ads, Prime.

3 - Here's how the content looks once the box was removed.

4 - These are all the contents that were included in the box/ package/ card: "1" cab, "1" gun, and "1" instruction sheet.

NOTE-1: World Smallest TF Magnus was released in a random box.  The box contains no window see through, therefore, you cannot tell which transformers you will be getting.

R-2 Pre-Applied Decals/ Stickers:

The World Smallest Transformers Line does not come with any sticker sheet.  Instead, it's basically a pre-applied paint throughout the figure.

R-3 World Smallest T.F. Magnus in Cab Mode:

magnuswstveh1.jpg (32713 bytes)Magnus cab is basically a repaint of Optimus Prime mold (see R-5) and is released as a chase figure in wave 2.  As a chase figure, Magnus price is a little bit expensive because his availability is very limited since he was not mass produced.  Magnus is a Freightliner COE Dual-Axle truck who measurement is  approximately 13/15 X 2 1/8 X 1 1/8 (LxWxD in inch).  Unfortunately, the trailer is not included or hasn't been made yet so there is no car carrier or Ultra Magnus robot mode.  Hopefully, Takara will release world smallest Magnus trailer in the future.

R-4 World Smallest T.F. Magnus in Robot Mode:

magnuswstrob1.jpg (39664 bytes)Although World Smallest T.F. Magnus transforms exactly like the regular Magnus (Original/Reissue Ultra Magnus), he doesn't not have shoulder forward or backward articulation like the regular Magnus.  Moreover, there is no die cast metal in World Smallest TF line.  Despites these two lack items, Small Magnus had all the feature of the regular Magnus, that is, red eye, blue forehead, and blue mouthplate.  The gun, even though it's Prime gun, was also repainted to white in order to match regular Magnus white gun.

R-5 World Smallest T.F. Magnus Vs. Regular Magnus/ WSTF Anime Prime.:

magnuswstrob3.jpg (48102 bytes)magnuswstrob2.jpg (37436 bytes)So how big is small Magnus when compare to the regular Magnus?  Well, hopefully the left image would give you some rough idea regarding their scale comparison.  Small Magnus is approximately 1/4 the size of the regular Magnus.  Next to that is Smallest Magnus Vs. Smallest Anime Prime of wave.  As you can see, other than colors, both are identical.

R-6 World Smallest T.F. Magnus Instruction/ Stat:

magnuswsinst.jpg (73496 bytes)A quick note on the Magnus instruction sheet/stat.  On a positive side, Takara did manage to color Prime box art to reflect Magnus colors on the front of the catalog.  But other than this, Takara made very little effort to make this into Magnus Instruction/Stats because it's still retained the old Optimus Prime information such as Prime stats as well as an ads of Prime trailer.  Why the Stats weren't change to Ultra Magnus stats is beyond me.

R-7 Magnus Origin - First Appearance:

magnusstatue0.jpg (106514 bytes)If you look at the Ultra Magnus action figure, you will see that the cab robot mode is actually the real body of Ultra Magnus and the trailer is nothing more than an armor.  Unfortunately, the cab robot mode had never been incorporated into neither Cartoon nor Marvel Comic in the past.  Finally, in 2003, Dreamwave company made it a reality as the white cab robot or "Magnus" as some fans called it, made it first debut in the Transformers cannon in the Second Mini-Series Transformers Issue #6 of Sept 2003 (James "Brad Mick" McDonough/ Pat Lee).  To make it even more spicier, Dreamwave released a third rare Incentive Cover which feature Magnus bursting out of his armor (top left image) as oppose to the two regular covers which were mass released evenly (bottom left images).  As for the story goes, Ultra Magnus was heavily shot in the back by Shockwave and temporary goes into stasis lock.  Once back online, Magnus had to rip out his dead weight battled armor in order to save his brother Optimus Prime.  In the end, Magnus and Prime defeated Shockwave.  And thanks to this second mini-series, Magnus character and merchandize are gradually growing out
