Today was the first Mullalys contest for 2001. This year it was different and instead of one run consisteing of 1 minute, there were 2 runs of 1 minute. anyways, Luis Oquendo won first place in Novice street. James Kennedy from Jer-z won first place in the flatland contest. and thats all i remember really. Some highlights of the day were Rondell Somerset representing Bulldog Bikes and New York was doing crazy supermans, no footed can cans, and tailwhips pedal to pedal. Ed Pollio made is Pro class debut and flowed the park with tricks on every ramp he touched, including a 540 on the 8ft. quater in his second run. Eric Koser of Staten Island got fourth place in Novice street but i think he deserved to placed. He was Jumping the 5 Ft box with x-ups and clean 360's. He also attempted a 360 over the spine for his last trick, but wasnt able to pull it.One of the biggest highlights was that Danny Olivera of Staten Island, Attempted a flip. On his first attempt he wasnt able to get tha rotation and didnt come cloise to landing it. he fell but got right back up and did it again. on the second attempt he flipped the 6 ft box and it was SMOOTH. he just over-rotated alittle bit and looped out...but a couple more attempts and he will get it dialed. Grimaldo from NJ ended his 2nd run with a couple wallride to tailwhip attempts. this guy from argentina was nuts. he flipped the spine and attempted a couple flair's on the 8' quater. on one attempt he broke his pedal and used "Skavenger" Vin's bike. even tho he didnt pull it...it was fun to see. anyways...thats all tha highlights i remember. if im missing anything mail me and tell me about it. YEAH DANNY!!!
