"You sure this is the place?" Howie asked as he drove into the property.

"Yeah, look, Brian and Leighanne are over there, come on, hurry up, park the damn car"

"relax Trish, damn, it's just an engagement party what's the big fuss about it"

"It's not just any engagement party..." she started

"Huh? what do you mean?"

"Well, it's my best friends engagement party"

"ok, ok" he parked the car and helped get out

The couple looked around to see the very familiar faces.

"Hey Trish, Hi Howie"

"hey Brian, Leighanne"

"How long are you here?" Trish asked

"We just got here, it's a nice place, I think everyone is down at the beach, there's a big tent" Brian said

"Well, you get going Howie, go with Brian and Leighanne, I'll go inside the house check on Linda, ok?"

"Ok" he said as she kissed him on the cheek

"I wont be long" she said as she got in the house and asked one of the waitress were was Linda.

"Miss Schwit is upstairs, third room on the left"

"Ok,  thanks"

 Trish made her way upstairs.

"I guess I have to take my shoes off, don't I?" Howie said, not really thrilled with it

"Come on Howie, I think it's sweet, look everyone relaxed, no shoes, no fancy costumes" Leighanne said as they went by the big white tent that was by the beach.
When they got inside, their jaws literally hit the floor, it was if they had travel to a paradise island, everywhere they looked were flowers, a sweet scent of fruit was in the air, a big table with colourful gourmets.

It seemed like everyone was there, Nick's parent's, Linda's parents, everyone just having a good time and enjoying the party.

"Wow, look at this" Brian said as they entered the tent

"It's beautiful" Leighanne added

"sure looks fine, look, there's kev, let's go talk to them" Howie suggested as both Leighanne and Brian agreed

Trish knocked by the door.

"Linda, can I come in?"

"No, no, wait, I'll be down at the beach in a minute, go on and join them..."

"No" Trish said laughing a little

"come on, I'm ok, go, please"

"Linda..."

"Yeah?"

"How long did you think you could fool me?"

"huh? I don't know what you mean"

"Don't lie, not to me, I know this isn't an engagement party, you two are getting married now open the door please"
 

Linda slowly opened the door to see a smily Trish standing by the door with a soft blue dress

"Let me take a good look at you" Trish said as she looked at Linda "You look so beautiful" Trish said hugging her as the two girls started crying

"Thank you, I fell beautiful, and happy, I'm marrying the man of my life"

"Man, you can't be crying like this, I'll ruin my make up, it's just this stupid hormones"

"I know, I know" Linda said smiling

"So, when will it all start?"

"I'm just waiting for Nick to come and call me"

"oh, no no, he is not seeing you before the ceremony"

"Relax Trish, it's ok"

"No it isn't, I'll stand outside and knock n the door when he comes ok?"

"Ok; thanks"

"No problem. Now, good luck" she said as she hugged Linda

"Thank you"

Trish got outside and closed the door to see Nick coming out from another room.

"Shit..." he hissed as Trish laughed

"It's ok, come here Carter, I know all about it"

"You do? I can't believe, she promised.."

"she didn't told me, I figured out myself, beach, dream... you know"

"damn, you told anyone?"

"Don't worry boy, I can keep a secret, now come here and give me a hug"

"A hug? Are you sure you're ok?"

"Play hard will yah" she joked, as he laughed a little and they walked to her and gave her a bear hug

"Good luck boy" she managed to say

"Boy, you calling me boy?"

"Go, your guests are expecting you" she said as he walked downstairs

"And Nick.."

"What?" he asked looking up at her

"You look fine" she said making him laugh

"I do, don't I?"

"remind me again, why is she marrying you?"

"I give her damn good sex" he said winking at her

"yeah, that and your modesty, right?"

"Right!" he said as Trish smiled back at him

"Now go, tell Howie, I'll be down in no time"

"And don't you dare to talk her out of it"

"I'm planning on doing it"

Nick walked down to the beach and got inside the tent to see that everyone was there.

"Hey people! Sorry for being late, Linda will be right down in a minute, you know how women are" he said as everyone laughed. Kevin came by where he was, to say hey, and when they shook hands he noticed Nick was acting strange, even strangest than the usual.

"You ok? you look nervous"

"Who me? nah, it's just I never had this people all together, it's nice"

"You sure it's that?"

"yeah, I am, don't worry I'll go and say hey to Linda's parents, ok?"

Kevin watched him go there to talk to them and didn't even noticed Brian had joined him.

"Our wives are in another of those fashion talks, so I needed to get away.." he said noticing Kev was staring at Nick

"What's wrong Kevin?"

"Nick, he is acting pretty strange"

"That's normal"

"No, and look at that grin on his face, something is up"

"Nah, try one of these cocktails, they are really nice" Brian told him showing him a glass with some green drink.
