Dear Dr. Adler:
As you know, the Middle Country Retirees' Association is an independent organization that seeks to promote the interests and welfare of the former members of the Middle Country School District regardless of the category of prior employment with the school district.
With the permission of a prior Superintendent of Schools (Connie Lorthridge) and the Board of Education of Middle Country School District, MCRA has made current employees of the Middle Country School District aware of a unique opportunity to honor their deceased members by inclusion on its "Wall of Remembrance".
In keeping with the above stated objective, MCRA has created a "Wall of Remembrance" for deceased employees of the Middle Country School District in its handbook (copy enclosed) and on its Web site:address as follows: https://www.angelfire.com/ny5/mcra.
The Middle Country Retirees' Association's "Wall of Remembrance" is open to any and all individuals who ever worked for the Middle Country School District since its inception regardless of the category of employment whether or not they were ever a member of the Middle Country Retirees' Association who passed away in employment or retirement.
Today the Middle Country Retirees' Association seeks the permission of the Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Education of the Middle Country School District to investigate the possibility of establishing in conjunction with the Middle Country School District an actual, physical, electronic "Wall of Remembrance" on school grounds perhaps at the site of the Administration Building itself.
Middle Country Retirees' Association can think of no better way to honor those who have passed through its portals in service over time than the inclusion of their names on a district-wide, actual electronic, "Wall of Remembrance".
In line with the above stated purpose, the Middle Country Retirees' Association has been in contact with a nationally known, outstanding, architectural firm (Campani & Schwarting) as a first step in the exploration of possiblities for the establishment of such a site on school grounds at a site mutually agreed upon by MCRA and MCCSD at some future date as yet undetermined.
The president of the Middle Country Retiree's Association seeks a meeting with the Superintendent of Schools of the Middle Country School District as a way of exploring the possibility of con-jointly establishing a district-wide, physical, electronic "Wall of Remembrance" for deceased employees of MCCSD.
Sincerely,
Michael J. Daly, President, MCRA (631 476 1317)
