MOM'S APPLESAUCE CAKE - Jackie Paddock
1 3/4 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. oleo
1 c hot applesause
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinn.
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 egg
Sift flour, soda, & salt. Mix oleo & sugar until smooth, combine with dry mixture than add hot applesause. Bake at 350º about 20 mins
GINGER SNAPS - Jackie Paddock
this is an old fashioned one, over 100 yrs. old
2 c sugar
1 c lard or crisco
1/2 c molasses
2 eggs
1 T vinegar
1/4 tsp.salt
3 tsp. soda in 1/4 c hot water
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. ginger
4 1/2 c flour
Mix crisco & sugar add eggs, molasses vinegar, soda with hot water & vanilla. Sift together flour, ginger & salt. Mix the dry to the sugar oleo mixture. Roll into balls the size of a walnut. press down with a glass dipped in sugar. Bake at 350º till light brown.
CHOCOLATE LOVER'S CAKE
1 (18.25 oz) package devil's food cake mix
1 (3.9 oz) package instant chocolate pudding mix
2 cups sour cream
1 cup melted butter
5 eggs
1 teaspoon almond extract
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350º. Grease a 10 inch Bundt pan. In a large bowl, stir together cake mix and pudding mix. Make a well in the center and pour in sour cream, melted butter, eggs and almond extract. Beat on low speed until blended. Scrape bowl, and beat 4 minutes on medium speed. Blend in chocolate chips. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 55 minutes. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely
APPLE PORK
CHOPS - marmac34
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 cup chopped onion
4 1/2-in thick, pork chops
1/2 teaspoon salt
pepper to taste
2 apples - peeled, cored and sliced
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
3/4 cup hot water
Preheat oven to 375º. Heat oil in large skillet. Saute onion in oil for 1 minute, or until tender. Remove onion and set aside. Brown pork chops on both sides in oil. Place chops in an 8x12 inch baking dish and sprinkle them with salt and pepper. Cover the chops with the apples and cooked onion. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, mustard, cloves and water. Pour over chops. Cover and bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 45 minutes.
TERIYAKI CHICKEN - Dawn Cash
1 lb. Chicken breast
1/2 Cup soy sauce
2 T oil
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 tsp sugar
1 clove garlic, minced
1 broiler-fryer chicken, cut up
Combine soy sauce, oil, onion, sugar, and garlic. Marinate chicken in this mixture for at least 2 hours. Arrange chicken on rack in shallow pan. Brush with marinade. Bake at 325º for 1-1/2 hours, basting occasionally, until tender.
BACON CHEDDAR JALAPENO POPPERS
1 (16 ounce) package Cheddar cheese
6 jalapeno, banana, or long yellow peppers, seeded and halved
12 slices bacon
Preheat the broiler. Cut Cheddar cheese into 12 slices long enough to fit inside the jalapeno halves. Insert cheese slices into the halves. Wrap the jalapeno halves with the bacon slices, securing with a toothpick, if necessary. Place on a medium baking sheet. Broil 5 to 10 minutes, or until the bacon is evenly brown.
ZOOKIES COOKIES - Sharon

1 egg
1/2 c margarine
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 c flour
1 c oatmeal
1/2 c raisins
1/2 c any kind chips
3/4 c coconut
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
mix together. bake 350º 12-15 min.
TUSCANY BEEF FOCACCIA
1/2 cup chopped ripe olives
1/2 cup chopped stuffed green olives
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1/2 8 oz container garlic-flavored spreadable cream cheese
1 (10-inch) focaccia bread, split
4 lettuce leaves
8 (1 oz each) slices Deli Provolone Cheese
3/4 pound thinly sliced deli roast beef
Combine ripe olives, stuffed green olives and parsley in medium bowl. Add cream cheese; mix well. Spread half of cream cheese mixture on cut-sides of each focaccia half. Layer lettuce, 4 slices cheese, beef and remaining cheese on bottom half of focaccia. Top with remaining half of focaccia. To serve, cut focaccia into eight wedges. Yield: 8 sandwiches
