What do I need to do to join?
1) Submit a writing sample to Vix (outsydedabox@yahoo.com). Samples should be written in past tense, be spell-checked, and at least one paragraph long. If you're not sure what to write, pick an available character and try to write their introductory post. Here is an example from another game: (your sample does not have to be this long or elaborate)
Kyra attn: Anthony
Kyra Smith was in her element as she glanced from screen to screen,
half-surrounded by flat-panel monitors. Her fingers flew over the
keyboard in front of her as she tweaked the image-recognition
program that allowed a person to be tracked from camera to camera
across the resort.
The surveillance system upgrades were new, and Kyra could tell that
not even the employees realized how pervasive the cameras really
were. She had already seen some very interesting things this
morning. Out of old habit, she was developing quite a collection of
incriminating videos burned to DVD- skeletons that would stay in the
closet… probably.
This job was her fresh start, and Kyra really was trying to make the
right impression. She had toned down her wardrobe some (although her
skirts were still just a bit too short, her blouses just a bit too
low cut, and her heels definitely too high). She also wasn't trying
to con anybody, and she was even trying to impress her boss,
Anthony. Kyra had been working nonstop for the past few days,
explaining her work to him when he popped in to her office, but
otherwise being a good little worker bee (well, except for the DVD
collection, but you couldn't change overnight, could you?)
As she heard the knock on the door, Kyra had the software tracking a
suspicious-looking guy as he progressed from the edge of the resort
towards the cottages near the beach. She opened the door to find
Anthony. Kyra smiled, then motioned to the monitor in
question. "This guy looked a little off to me, so I've got Big
Brother keeping an eye on him."
