Kaisha Merena Harris

The Writer, Poet, Journalist and Editor

Kaisha Merena Harris has been writing since in her early teens to her late twenties. She has authored several works of poetry, her first novel Quarterlife , as well as an active participant in the realm of journalism.

She is currently an assistant editor at ABA Banking Journal which she writes about different marketing initatives taken by banks as well as the emerging retirement market.

She also freelances for publications like College Bound Magazine.

The Bronx native also served a short stinct as editor-in-chief of the urban lifestyle online magazine Fever.


Who is she?

You may not know her by her biological name but you are aware of her many aliases in writing. Mazon/Mavon Luv, K. Merena, or poeticwaize. Ms. Harris had taken alot of personas in the few years she has been writing.

"When I first started getting published, I used my given name. As I worked more and more into the journalism world, I became Kaisha Harris, the editor. For my poetry, I became Mazon, Mazon Luv or poeticwaize. The reasoning behind my madness is quite simple. I don't want any confusion or discredit for my art. So I keep those names lovingly nearby." states the writer.

Her writing talent has been cultivated but sights and sounds from her surroundings and views from the world around her. Her artistry flows to her pieces in dramatic and unique fashion. She can make it romantic and sensual or passionate and strong. Her writing is like an ebbtide it flows at will. Her debut novel

Quarterlife is a book that talks about all stages of romance but focuses on the life of Kecia. A strong woman that gets her world rocked when she learns that things that she was taught by her reverend father about love and relationships where not true. She has to make a decision about her life and what is important for her to grow. To stay with a cheating boyfriend or to move on to her true happiness.

Quarterlife is an semi-biographical tale takes the reader on a rollercoaster of emotions and twists and turns.
