Made Me Fly

There was a time that I felt
like a bird with a broken wing,
unable to fly. I was not able to
soar and reach as high as I wished.
The sky was beyond my reach, not
able to grasp no matter how much
I wanted to.
What a confusion my life seemed to
have been. I was not able to
commit myself completely to
anyone. I wondered why would
I even want to. I only was
afraid that the dreams I
deeply wanted and needed
would never be. I convinced
myself I was really ok I
really was not ok, I was
only surviving and avoiding
commitment.
What always stood out in my
mind was my fear. I expected
to be hurt. I felt like I
was trapped and desperately
wanted to fly free. I was
full of uncertainties.I was
lost until I found you.
I knew right from the start that
because of the distance between us it
would not be easy, yet I felt with
effective communication we would be
ok. I knew I would be able to soar
to the highest heights, and
together we could reach the sky.
It is important for both of us
to be able to trust each other
completely, to get to know each
other by never holding anything
back from the other. We must speak
the truth about our past, express
our hopes for the future. Are
our hopes and dreams the same?
I do not want to hold onto
something I can never really
have.
The quality of our relationship
is more likely to increase if we
both develop the ability to share
our thoughts freely to each other.
Tell me please, are you as committed
to our relationship as I am?
Being so far apart can be a
scary, so remind me often that
you love me. The presence of
secure trust between us is
what will keep us strong
until we can be together.
In long distance relationships
such as ours it is so important
to spend quality time together.
Spend time chatting online or on
the phone talking about things
that draw us closer, rather than
focusing on the distance between
us.
Relationships are complicated
enough, having them across a
long distance is extremely
challenging. However, I believe
that even though we are miles
apart, we can maintain a solid,
stable and lasting relationship.
Because of your love I know
that someday soon I will be
able to fly high enough to
touch a star.
