I created these pages to encourage and enlighten you
and it would be remiss of me to avoid the topic's of loss, separation and death. They are an inescapable part of life and
when it comes to dealing with children many parents are
unprepared as to how to help them understand, cope and grieve.
Whether the children are faced with a parent who has a chronic illness or the loss of a family member, friend or pet; these experiences have a profound effect on kids... possibly for the rest of their lives.I certainly didn't have a clue as to what to do when tragedy first happened in our family...I knew nothing about the grief process or any mental health issues such as depression, anxiety or post traumatic stress disorder.
It wasn't until one of my children began experiencing severe emotional problems that I found out that millions of children also suffer from various forms of mental illness.

GUIDE FOR A SINGLE MOTHER
God, I am a single mother and I NEED your help today.
Give me STRENGTH to do all that needs to be done.
PATIENCE when mine is gone and a sense of HUMOR to get me through.
Give me KNOWLEDGE to realize I can't do it alone and HUMILITY to ask for help when I need it and GRACE to accept it when offered.
Give me WISDOM and LOVE so that I may give it, to be the Mother You want me to be.
But most of all God,please give me FAITH to know I am never alone as long as You are watching over my precious children that You have given to me.Amen!

Blessed is the Parent with a Good Sense of Humor!
- Just when a women thinks her work is done she becomes a Grandmother.
- Avenge yourself! Live long enough to be a problem to your children.
- Parenting is NOT for wimps.
- Cleaning the house while the kids are still growing is like shoveling the driveway before it stops snowing.
- Children are a great comfort in your old age and they help you reach it faster too!
- Run the vaccumn often...not to clean but to drown out the kids.
- If only I could relate to the people I'm related too.
- Be nice to your children... they are the ones who choose your nursing home.
