A Group 1 winner in Australia.Northern Drake(ex Elizabeth Drake (GB) by Northfields) was sold to Domeland’s Y.P. Cheng for $140,000 at the 1996 Australian Easter Yearling Sale, unraced at two but won five times at three, four of his wins in succession including the Group 2 Tulloch Stakes and the Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes before a third to Gold Guru and Tie the Knot in the Group 1 AJC Derby.He also won the WFA Caulfield Stakes (2000m) by four and a half-lengths, When he retired to stud the following season, Northern Drake had raced 24 times for six wins (1300m-2000m), four seconds and two thirds for $1.083m. His placing’s also included a second in the Tatts Tramway Handicap-Gr.3, a third in the Sandown Classic-Gr.2 and fourths in the AJC George Main Stakes-Gr.1 and STC Premiere Stakes-Gr.3.
