Frankie pulled up to her house about 12:56 pm. He peered at his digital clock then glaced at the front door. Should I go knock on the door or honk the horn, he pondered. He looked in his rearview mirror to see his hair was perfectly spiked and nothing was in his teeth. He grinned into the mirror as he heard a heavy door slam. He looked over to see Bridget and Tiyanna strolling down her lucious green grass, Bridget tying up her bone dry blond locks with a thin hair tie.
"Hey girls," Frankie greeted them as they crawled into his tiny maroon car.
"Hi Frankie," Tiyanna smiled as Bridget lifted the latch for the seat to come foward, "long time, no see?"
"Yeah," Frankie agreed, fixing his gaze on Bridget. "How are you doing?"
"Great, actually," Bridget told him, nodding her head as she strapped her seatbelt on. "But the police think Bryant skipped town." Ridge make eye contact with him and pressed a fake smile.
"Aren't you worried?" Frankie asked, adjusting his mirrors and turning on the igniton.
"You know what they say," Ridge said shrugging her shoulders. "Out of sight, out of mind."
"Chris, Greg!" Frankie shouted as the 3 of them trotted through the shimmering park.
Greg looked up from his wickered picnic basket and replied, "Hey Frankie."
"and ladies," Chris continued, his smile windening as he spread out the blue bed sheet.
"I don't think you guys formerally met," Frankie informed his bandmates as he placed his CD player down next to a burly oak tree. "Chris, Greg, this is Bridget and her friend Tiyanna. Girls, these are the guys."
"A pleasure," Greg told them as they shook hands.
"I agree," Tiyanna replied as she pulled on the back of her white polo shirt.
"Welcome, girls," Chris greeted with his lips touching each girl's left hand.
"A charmer, aren't you?" Bridget laughed as Chris lifted his head up.
"Where's Jesse and Matt?" Tiyanna pondered as she sat down indian-style.
"They're stuck in traffic," Greg informed them, taking out some fruit and sandwiches, "they'll be here, though."
"Good," Frankie replied, sitting between Tiyanna and Bridget, "we need some chill time, ya know? Next week's going to be crazy."
"Good thing Claudia the slave driver gave us the day off," Chris joked, pouring himself a cup of coke. "You guys want some?"
Bridget declined and Tiyanna graceously accepted. Greg was in the mist of telling a hilarious joke and let's just say, mnore coke got on Tiyanna's shirt than in the cup.
"OMG!" Chris gasped, looking at Ti's err...chest. "I'm so sorry."
"Christopher!" Ti whined, looking down, "This is a 30 dollar shirt."
"Or was...here girl," Rigde offered her some napkins, trying not to laugh.
"Thanks," Tiyanna replied as she whiped at her shirt.
After about an hour, Jesse and Matt arrived at full stomachs.
"Welcome to the party, guys," Greg told them as he took the last bite of his ham sandwich.
"Did you guys leave anything for us?!" Matt asked as he plopped next to Greg.
"Calm down, Matty," Chris told him, patting his shoulder.
"There's some more sandwiches in that basket," Frankie informed him ad he pointed next to an ajared basket by Tiyanna.
Matt looked at them with an inquizzative look, then a light blub brightened in his head. "You guys must be Tiyanna and Bridget," Matt established. "I'm Matt and the silent one's Jesse."
"I'm juss tired!" Jesse complained, leaning against the tree, "that was a long ride."
"Let's make the best of it then," Greg told him, as he took out a deflated beach ball. "Volleyball, anyone?"
"Totally," Bridget agreed as she got up with Greg. The teams were Frankie, Bridget, Matt and Jesse and then Chris, Tiyanna and Greg.
"These teams are uneven!" Tiyanna protested.
"I'm twice the man they are," Chris informed her as he flexed his muskles. Tiyanna and Ridge giggled in responce.
The volleyball game was pretty uneventful, except for Jesse's lame attempts to get the BEaCH BALL over the net. The height of the game when a rather nosy goose popped the ball lol. You could see the sparks fly between Chris and Tiyanna, but Frankie and Bridget was another story.
"Yo, we should get them tickets for NY Kids," Matt suggested as the day winded down to a close.
"I don't know how'd we get there," Bridget told him as she helped Greg pack up.
"My cousin Jenna could take us," Tiyanna suggested, her ears perking up at the thought of seeing the guys again. "She wouldn't pass up a trip to the city. Besides, it will be like a 'thank-god-school-is-over' kinda thing."
"I'm up for it, then," Bridget changed her mind, looking over at Frankie and smiling.
"See you guys next monday!" Tiyanna shouted out of the car window as they drove into the sunset.
"Christopher Ryan Trousdale," Tiyanna sighed dreamily as she played with her brown hair.
"Oh god," Bridget complained, "Not again."
"Which sounds better," Tiyanna asked, "Mrs. Tiyanna Velez Trousdale of just Mrs. Tiyanna Trousdale."
Frankie laughed and replied while switching off the radio, "Girl, you're so into him, aren't you?!"
"'Into him' isn't the phrase," Tiyanna continued as she drew a heart on the window with her finger.
"More like wants to get into him," Bridget snickered. Tiyanna gasped in protest as she started spitting out words 8737329 times a minuete. Frankie and Bridget just laughed in enjoyment. Laughing is something Bridget hasn't done in a long time...
"So here we are," Bridget sighed as she gazed at her seemingly quiet house. "I had so much fun today," she told Frankie with a sincere grin.
"So did I. Except for the poppin' ball thing," Frankie replied with a small smile.
"So I guess I'll be seeing you Monday?" Bridget asked as she opened the car door.
"Wait," Frankie stopped her quietly with his hand in hers. She suddenly stopped and turned her head towards his. Her green eyes just lost their tracks in his engulfing peepers. "I just want you to know," Frankie started, glancing at the car floor for a moment, then redirrecting his attention to her, "that I hope Bryant stays out of your life for good. You're such a different person now, in a good way...well, not that you weren't good before. Erg," he swipped his hand over his eyebrows and continued. "You're a human being. You're so full of life and vibrance. But with Bryant, it's drained out of you. You deserve much better than that; better than him. You deserve someone like me..."
Their eyes couldn't separate for what it seemed like enternities. The stars in the sky stopped twinkling and everything was like a painting. Bridget kept her reaction of surprise inside her gut the best she good. She didn't know how to respond. He seemed so perfect, but she feared the unthinkable. Ridge reluctently broke the tranze and laid a small kiss on the corner of his lips of perfection. "Thank you," she whispered and then scooted out of the car. Frankie was still in his daze when Bridget concluded Frankie would always be there to protect her...
