Around Life's Bases - The Top Of The Third (Next Day)

"Everything's so blurry, and everyone's so fake......"

"Chris, TURN IT UP!" Matt's blonde locks flew in fury as he sang along to his favorite song.

"......and everybody's empty, and everything is so messed up......"

The surrounding air in the room that he, Chris, and Greg shared was permeated with the heavy beat. Greg slipped off his headphones and put down the "Teen Beat: Britney Spears Special Edition" magazine he was reading. He threw Matt a cold glare.

"Dude, I can't hear my Britney music, and that's a problem. You aren't the only one living in this room."

"Or in this house!" Jesse stormed in from across the hall. "Could you puh-lease keep it down, WAY down." He slammed the door shut and headed up to the girl's bedroom on the third floor. He heard giggling and the clatter of closing closet doors and drawers over No Doubt's "Hella Good" blasting from their surround sound system. He cautiously knocked on their door. "Hey are you decent?"

Heather turned down the music. "Yuppers." Her almond eyes peeped through the doorway, a welcoming smile sewn onto her picture perfect face. "Come on in!"

Jesse had just woken up, but the soft scent of Tommy Girl seemed to lull him back to sleep as he entered their paradise. Paradise being the key word here, the girls definitley received the best room. Light yellow walls with pale green stenciling surrounded beautfiul white oak furniture. The green carpet perfectly matched the delicate stenciling, and the breath-taking ocean view from the balcony window added the finishing touch to the lovliest room of the house. He flopped onto Callile's canopy bed as she peeked out of the bathroom.

"Hey, It lives!" She giggled as she entered the room in her comfy Froggie bathrobe, her hair wrapped in a fluffy beige towel.

"How many showers didyou take today, girl?" he asked in surprise.

It had been her third, but hey, she liked to smell fresh and sweet.

"Wouldn't you like to know." Her bright eyes sparkled and threw him a playful wink.

"For your information, we decided to go clubbing tonight , and we're getting ready." Heatherlaughed to herself as she watched Jesse awake with a start. Clubbing was his one weakness.

"And when were you planning on telling us?"

"We did, only you were sleeping." Callie poked him with her sparkly purple hairbrush. "We're leaving at eight, which is in..." she paused, looking at Heather for the time.

"45 minutes. Now shoo, we'd like a little privacy." She pushed himout the door and he dashed downstairs to get ready.
