The Crowned Prince of the planet Vegeta, he is one (for the most part of the series), of the most Gritty fighters in the dragonball series.


At first he was one of freeza's henchmen, back on Vegeta with a power level of around 1500.

He came to planet earth so he could use the dragonballs to become immortal. He was not alone in this desire for immortality and came with a few suprises (Nappa, & the Cybamen), but luckily the earth had the Z fighters and he was unsuccessful.

He then went to Namek to use their Dragonballs to wish for immortality, but frieza was there,
and he was forced to side with his enemies the Z fighters.

Vegeta's life from then on had a single goal; To become more powerful than Kakarot.

Vegeta is the father of Trunks and Bra (and yes, chibli and futre trunks).

When he meets Future Trunks he has no idea who he is, and knows only that even this boy had reached the level of Super Saiyan,

and he is not too impressed, he is pretty cold towards Trunks from then on.

He soon learnt a new respect for his son when they trained though,
and he could see the strength within trunks,
was a direct result of his father being an Iron Willed Saiyan,
after Trunks was killed by Cell,
we get a glimpse at the father that Vegeta had become and most of us decided, he's cool.

He is obsessed with defeating Kakarot though so I couldn't say without talking to the producers wether or not he ever does,

even if just for a while (with Goku trying, The Buu Fight doesn't count),

to see if he would become more evil,
or finally realise he was good and change again
(though not like Debora).

He was able to be more powerful than Goku several times, but Goku would always go and get half killed protecting someone from sure death,

and come back stronger and stronger.
Vegeta has spent his life with a lot of guilt and shame for the actions he had done through his thugish youth,

and he has a different way of paying his pennance, this is the underlying drive behind his Pride,

and this is why it is easy (for some)to feel an affilliation with Vegeta,
rather than Goku,
who is like an Angel in comparrison.
