For the first time, the championship Race was run on December 1st, instead of 1st
Saturday in October. But it turned out to be a blessing when the spring-like day
started in 50's with lots of sunshine.
Due to rescheduled race, two of our qualifiers were not able to participate,
but the depth of our team allowed us prompt substitution and made Bayer's participation possible.
Race is run on Park Ave, starting at Chase Headquarters on 48th street. It is believed that only on this Saturday,
once a year, Park Ave. is closed for the duration of the race.
Strict security measures prompted us to arrive early as we were expecting high turnout of runners and delay in baggage check-in.
But the turn-out was much less than usual (~ 800 runners).
Brian met his buddy from J & J and both are being interviewed by a TV crew.
It was Larry Roche's Wedding day and Larry decided to start the day with a good run on the Park Ave.
Witnesses say that Larry looked calm and relaxed during the ceremony.
